IIT JAM Joint Admission Test is a national level
entrance for MSc conducted by IITs every year.
The examination is for securing admission in
masters in science (M.Sc.)/ M.Sc. Ph.D. (dual
degree/ integrated Ph.D.) programs in various
disciplines offered at IITs based on their JAM
Score Card. The Exam is conducted in the month of
February Every year by IITs. The JAM exam is
conducted in seven subjects -

Physics Chemistry
Mathematics Mathematical Statistics
Geology

Criteria. IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria - 1.
Candidates must hold a bachelors degree 2.
Foreign nationals are also eligible for JAM
exam 3. General/OBC candidates must hold at
least 55 in their Bachelors's. 4. For ST/Sc
category it should be 50. 5. There is no upper
age limit in IIT JAM. 6. Candidates who are
pursuing the qualifying examination have to
submit the proof of passing the qualifying
examination to the admitted institute by

- The IIT JAM exam consists of three sections
- Section A, B, C
- Section A consists of 30 Questions total of 50
marks. There will be a negative marking of 1/3
marks on 1 mark question and 2/3 marks on 2 mark
questions. - Section B consists of 10 Questions total of 20
marks and there will be no negative marking in
this section. - Section C consists of 20 Questions total of 30
Questions and there will be no negative marking
in this section. - The Exam is conducted in Online Mode.
- No. Of Questions 60 total of 100 marks
- The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
