Title: Significance Of Ultrasound During Pregnancy

1
Impact Of 3D/4D Ultrasound on Women Planning
Abortion
2
  • Pregnancy is no doubt the most beautiful period
in a womans life. However, for some women, an
unplanned pregnancy can turn their life in a
different direction. Many times, the woman or her
partner is not prepared to take up the
responsibilities that come along with parenthood.
The decision to have a baby requires mutual
contemplation from couples since any wrong move
can result in a big problem. Despite all the
precautionary measures if a woman becomes
pregnant unwillingly, abortion is the only way to
avoid parenthood. Since ultrasound plays a
    critical role in maternity-related issues,
undergoing a 3D/4D ultrasound is advisable before
proceeding with the decision to abort the child.
  • In this article, we shed light on the
significance of 3D/4D ultrasound while planning
    an abortion.

3
Why 3D/4D Ultrasound Matters?
  • Before finalizing their abortion plans, pregnant
women must avail the 3D/4D ultrasound services to
find answers to some important questions. The
ultrasound results make a direct impact on the
decision of abortion. A January 2014 study by the
University of California analyzed the records
from over 15,000 women seeking abortion from a
clinic in Los Angeles. The study was performed on
women who have fixed appointments for abortions
and they were assessed based on the certainty of
their decision to abort. The records under
analysis divided women into three categories
    high decision certainty, medium decision
certainty, and low decision certainty. Overall,
42 of the 15,000 women opted for looking at the
    ultrasound images.
