Description
  • Florence, Italy is not only the capital of
Tuscany, but one of Italy's most famed--and most
visited--cities. The city is noted for its
culture, Renaissance art and architecture and
monuments. The city also contains numerous
museums and art galleries, such as the Uffizi
Gallery and the Palazzo Pitti, and still exerts
an influence in the fields of art, culture and
politics. The delicious food, accessible day
    trips, beautiful architecture, fascinating
history, and the endless number of things to do
in Florence all work together to leave us
permanently enthralled with the city. Here we
list the top Places of Florence where you must
    visit on your trip.

List of top Places of Florence
  • Duomo
  • The Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (known
simply as the Duomo) is not only Florence's
religious center it's also the city's most
recognizable attraction. Occupying the Piazza del
Duomo in the heart of the city, this massive
Gothic cathedral was erected during the 14th
century on the former site of the Roman church,
Santa Reparata. Here you see the church's
    massive, iconic dome.

  • Ponte Vecchio
  • This bridge does get packed with tourists, but
it really is a special place that you should
experience once. It is believed that it was
originally built in Roman times, but the Ponte
Vecchio that you see now was built in 1345. It
has always housed tiny shops, and now jewelry,
especially gold, is sold behind beautiful old
shop doors. The views from the bridge at sunrise
and sunset are not to be missed.

5
  • Galleria dellAccademia
  • The Galleria dellAccademia is much smaller
and essentially exists to show off one piece of
artwork Michelangelos magnificent David in all
his glory, housed in a room built especially for
the statue! There is not much else to see in the
gallery, so you wont need a terribly long time
here, but be sure to check out some of
Michelangelos unfinished statues that are in the
    museum.

6
  • Giottos Bell Tower
  • Florences famous Duomo has two options for
climbing if youre looking for an incredible view
over Florence, and the less-touristed option is
    our personal preference.Climbing Giottos Bell
Tower ensures that not only you get an amazing
view of Florence itself, you also get a close-up
view of the famous cupolaits hard to admire the
iconic structure when youre standing on it!
