coaching with individual training plans for all
abilities. Each training plan is structured and
specifically tailored to your individual ability
and goals. One on one training plans suit every
mountain bike rider, from hobby riders out there
to finish a race or improve your fitness, to
performance based athletes who are aspiring to
reach an elite level of racing. Triathlon
coaching for sprint, Olympic or Ironman distance
includes all swimming, running and cycling
plans. Health is a priority at Fitgurl, with
individual dietary analysis and food plans
offering the best possible guidance and support.

5Mountain Bike Coaching
Each training plan is structured and specifically
tailored to your individual level and goals. One
on one training plans suit every rider from hobby
riders out there just to finish a race or improve
your fitness to performance based athletes. To
achieve your optimum level of fitness it is
important to train right. After 15 years of
competing in both mountain bike and triathlon I
have gained a wealth of experience from following
different plans from various international
coaches and then ultimately training myself over
the last 5 years of my career. To get the most
out of your genetic potential it is important to
train smart. I look at it like building a house.
First the foundation or base needs to be
established for the walls and roof to complete
the house. Longer slower rides will train your
aerobic system, to build up a base for your body
to be able to train at higher intensity and race
hard. This training improves the efficiency of
your heart and lungs as well as you biomechanical
pedalling efficiency. Each year will be broken
up into Macro and micro cycles taking into
account the racing season and off season.
Training plans are done on a 4 week cycle with
adjustments made accordingly due to illness or
injury.
6Mountain Bike Coaching
Working one-on-one in a 4 week cycle will help
balance your dedicated personal training and
racing goals with your busy work or family
schedule and lifestyle. Ill work with you to
develop an individualized path to improvement.
Your training and progress will be reviewed each
month with feedback and recommendations on how to
improve your workouts and your race strategy.
7Triathlon Coaching
Training for 3 disciplines is a very complicated
process, which can lead to over-training if not
overseen by a coach. Combining swimming, riding
and running to achieve maximum performance takes
a great deal of structured planning. Whether you
are racing sprint, middle or long Ironman
distance the training is structured to suit your
individual goals. There is no greater achievement
than completing a triathlon.
8Mountain Bike Skills Training
Learning how to handle your bike in all terrains
takes a lot of practice and patience. The skill
of riding downhill may come natural to some
however for those just starting out and hitting
the dirt tracks with rocks and roots it can be a
little daunting. The technique training skills
sessions will teach you correct body positioning
for cornering and descending as well as how to
choose the best line for a smooth ride. Little
tips will improve your confidence and guarantee
success in improving your skills and riding
experience.
9Nutrition Analysis and Food Plans
You are what you eat. Nutrition and diet is
becoming more and more a talking point with all
the diseases and illnesses arising. Recent
studies have found that disease begins in the
gut. I believe that you have the choice as to
what food you put in your mouth which is
ultimately choosing the future of your
health. You may feel like you are lacking
energy, carrying too much weight, or having
digestive issues which can all be improved by
cleaning up your diet. For improving exercise
performance there are many nutrition strategies
that can be implemented to get the most out of
your training and racing. Your current diet will
be analysed through a food diary that you will
fill out for 5 days. From there an appropriate
food plan with recipes will be developed to make
the changes that will improve your overall health.
