experience, with surfable waves almost all year
round.

The best months for surfing are from May to
October when the south-east trade winds drive
stronger more consistent swell to Mahe and
Praslin Islands.

Tips for beginners

• Never approach surfing on your own,  get an
  experienced friend/instructor with you.
• Spend some time practising on the dry land first
  and then try your hand at beginner waves and once
  you're inside water, pace yourself.
• Keep distance from the experienced surfers.
• Use a big surfboard as it'll help you develop
  fundamental mechanics
