Troubleshoot the environment
  • There are several factors that can affect your
    WiFi speed
  • Competing devices The more devices connected to
your wireless network, the more bandwidth
competes for use. Disconnect some of your unused
devices to improve performance on other devices.
  • Older devices Older devices use older wireless
technologies, which may affect the performance of
all of your devices on your network.
  • Competing networks Your computer can check if
there are other wireless networks in the area
that may be competing with you for bandwidth.
  • Distance from your router Your best signal is
about 30 meters in sight. Try moving your device
closer to see if your speed improves.
  • Signal obstacles Your router must be in the most
central location in your house and away from
anything that could block its signal.
  • Time of day If you experience slow speeds at
    peak times (typically between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.),
check your off-peak speeds to see if they
    improve.
  • Security Settings If all devices are
    experiencing slowness, check your network's
    security settings.
