Famous for its pristine beaches and great
nightlife, Mykonos is among the most popular
Greek islands. Mykonos is not only for the party
goers its an island that offers gourmet food,
cultural activities, and romantic holidays. Its
a great destination for solo travellers, gay
travellers, couples, and families with many fun
things to do. Below are the most amazing things
to do in and around Mykonos for you can do to

LIST 1. DISCOVER THE WINDMILLS IN CHORA(A.K.A
CITY CENTER) Looks beautiful, doesnt it? The
windmills are among the most recognized landmarks
of the island. Of all the windmills only seven
windmills have been preserved (all in Chora). We
highly recommend that you walk up to visit the
windmill of Boni. The view from up there is
incredible, and its also one of the best places
to watch the sunset on the island. 2. HAVE A
DRINK IN LITTLE VENICE Little Venice is a
neighbourhood with colourful houses built on the
edge of the sea. It took its name due to its
resemblance with Venice. Nowadays the houses have
been turned into elegant bars and restaurants.
Little Venice is among the best places in town to
watch the sunset while sipping a cocktail but be
prepared to pay an extravagant price for it. Bars
and restaurants in Little Venice are the most
expensive on the island. This is probably the
best highlight in Chora. It is right next to the
windmills, ideally you should club both.

3. STROLL AROUND MYKONOS TOWN Lose yourself in
the winding alleys of Mykonos town with the white
houses, blue doors and windows and colourful
bougainvilleas is a must do in Mykonos. Head to
the area of Matogiania with the chic shops and
trendy bars. The place to be in the centre of the
town. Its a vehicle free zone which makes
walking here so much more fun. Dont forget to
stop at a couple of churches! Mykonos has around
800 churches in all. I remember counting 60
during my walk around the area. Mykonos
town/Chora is one of the main places to be in
Mykonos all busses halt here so you wouldnt have
the slightest difficulty in reaching here. 4.
ENJOY THE NIGHTLIFE What should we say about the
nightlife in Mykonos that hasnt been said
before? Mykonos is a party island and has the
best nightlife in Greece.

You can start your evening by watching the sunset
and sipping a cocktail in Little Venice and as
the night progresses you can visit the legendary
Paradise/Super paradise beach, Scandinavian bar,
the gay-friendly Jackie O, Cavo Paradiso or you
can head in one of the famous beach bars like
Nammos, Scorpios and Jackie O on the beach. The
options are endless. One thing is for sure you
are going to have a great night if you just
choose the place that matches your taste. 5.
EXPLORE THE ISLANDS PRISTINE BEACHES The
beaches of Mykonos are famous for their golden
sand and crystal-clear waters. There is a beach
for every taste. If you want to party, then
Paradise beach and Super Paradise beach is for
you. If you want a family-friendly beach, you can
head to Kalo Livadi, Elia, Ornos, and Lia. If you
are looking for a secluded beach, then you can go
to Kapari or Agios Sostis. The beach of Kapari is
one of my favourite places to visit in
Mykonos. If you are looking for a trendy beach,
where all the celebrities go, you should go to
Psarou. There you will find one of the best beach
bars worldwide, Nammos. Beware though it is
expensive.

6. TAKE A BOAT TRIP TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
OF DELOS AND RHENIA Climb aboard to discover the
so-called Cycladic Sisters of Mykonos, Delos
and Rhenia. The UNESCO World Heritage island,
Delos, is a 30-minute boat ride from Mykonos. You
can take a tour of the historic sights like the
famous house of Dionysus, Stoa of Phillipe,
Colossus of the Naxians, Temple of Apollo, etc.
History gets ten times more interesting with a
guide so we recommend taking a guided tour.Then
you can cruise to the uninhabited island of
Rhenia and truly let go! Swim and snorkel in the
crystal-clear waters. Discover sandy coves and
unwind at the uncrowded beaches. You can choose
between the different boats and time slots. The
tour will cost you around 90 7. DAY TRIP TO
TINO ISLAND Lets talk about hidden gems. Tino
is a beautiful island around 30 mins away from
Mykonos via ferry. Makes a great day trip.It has
all the charm of a Greek island and not the
crowd. Experience the authentic culture and
traditional hospitality of Greece. Explore the
churches, womens monastery, climb the mountains
to get stunning views of the surroundings. Stroll
through the traditional village of Volax to see
the basket weavers. Marvel at the marble arts of
Pyrgos and get some free time to enjoy a coffee
at the main square.

There are a lot of tour operators to book your
day trip. The approximate cost of the trip should
be around 75-80 per adult. 8. CRUISE ALONG THE
SOUTHERN COAST Cant recommend this enough,as a
lover of boats and the sea probably the best day
of my holiday in Mykonos. The southern coast of
Mykonos is home to the most beautiful and famous
beaches like Ornos Beach, Psarou Beach, Super
Paradise, Platys Gyalos, and Elia. Some of the
cruises even visit the nearby Dragonisi island
where you can experience its caves and beautiful
colors. You could either choose a private boat
and sail on your own (expensive option) or opt
for an organised tour. This tour is available
through various vendors with a variety of
options. You will need to choose the duration of
your cruise, the kind of boat, the number of
spots it covers,etc. The tours start at around
80 per person.
