What Are the Effects Of Snow on Car Accidents?
2
Winter weather is usually followed by low
temperatures, snow, and ice. In most cases, this
includes low(er) visibility and slippery roads.
Did you know that snow and ice-related accidents
cause over 1,3000 deaths every year, and over
115,000 injuries, according to the U.S.
Department of Transportation's Federal Highway
Administration?
3
When the roads are covered in ice and snow, you
have to be extremely careful when driving. Too
much speed and you will not be able to slow down
on time, resulting in a rear-end collision
driving too slow could cause you to lose
traction. It is all about finding the perfect
balance between going too fast and too slow.
Lack of Control
4
Create Enough Space For Others
Remember to always give the vehicle in front of
you enough space. In case of an emergency, they
will have to brake. If you are too close behind
them, you will not have enough time to react and
will end up in a car accident.
5
It Takes Time
You cannot expect to drive at the same speed as
you are used to, as you have to adapt to the snow
and ice on the road. Give yourself enough time to
get to where you are going without putting
yourself or anyone else in danger.
6
Driver Only When You MUST
The best advice that you can receive is to drive
only when you have to. Avoid all unnecessary
travels, and stay inside your home whenever
possible. And in case of an accident, be sure to
schedule a free consultation with Philadelphia
car accident attorneys at Dan Doyle Law Group.
