3Desh Apnayen applauds students from Carlox Public
High School for taking an initiative to improve
the quality of education by providing quality
education to support staff in schools, as it
feels that educating supporting staff would have
a multi layered effect. It would help the support
staff bring about quality in their own lives,
their families, their neighbourhoods, as they
continue to nurture thousands of students whom
they interact with day in and day out.

4Making a Change One Small Step is what it takes.
Students from Team CA-an Changemakers of
Childrens Academy, Ashok Nagar, Mumbai took an
initiative to conserve water. The idea entails
filling plastic bottles with pebbles or rocks,
filling them with water and placing these in
toilet tanks which would save us 9.69 liters of
water per day. Now imagine if every household,
malls, hospitals, railway stations, airports, and
other public places put this plastic plus pebbles
plus water formula into action. How much water
would our nation save in a day? Students with
their mentor did their bit, when are you taking a
step forward? DeshApnayen DeshApnayenAwards Act

5When it comes to conserving water, small steps
can have a big impact and it may surprise you on
how easy it is to save water. To prove this, Team
Aqua Saviours of D.C.M. Presidency School,
Ludhiana worked on a project on Clean Water, A
Resource for All Lets conserve it! The idea
entails conserving the leftover water from RO
water filters after its. They harnessed the 3
litres of water that an RO purifier wastes for
every 1 litre of water purified. Also, their
water bank will harness water dripping from air
conditioners.These students emerged as ACTIZENs,
are you an ACTIZEN too? DeshApnayen DeshApnayenA

9Getting people to care about saving water is a
real challenge. But Team Aquanauts of Pawar
Public School, Chandivali, made it look easy by
taking a small step forward to conserve water in
the school, which can then be used to water the
potted plants. The process involved sketching the
model, creating a functioning model of the system
and then doing trial runs to test its
feasibility. Their well-researched solution
involved making use of plastic bottles and
terracotta pots They made water conservation a
priority, is it yours too? DeshApnayen DeshApnay
