  • Hinges being an ancient artifact and a useful
entity speeded over all five continents since
ages. Have been in so many shapes, designs and
colors that it is dated back to Stone Age when it
has been made of stones and wood. But today we
will discuss about shapes sizes and usage of
    interior hardware fittings in different
industrial purposes and interiors of a household.
  • Hinges are basically concludes two plates joined
in one corner by a nail making a canter for each
of them to rate in their respective directions.
Each of them has a free movement up to a certain
degree to give the object a clear movement when
connected. Although there are different types of
hinges used in different operations described
    below.

  • Spring Hinges are types of hinges loaded with a
spring and helps in reverse movement for the
hinge leave once after opening in one side. This
type can be seen commonly in doors.
  • Barrel Hinges are connected together with the
help of a pivot connecting both leaves in one cut
fitted side carved in barrel shape. These hinges
have almost 270 degree of rotation in normal
    conditions.
  • Pivot Hinges are also called the stealth hinges
due to their extreme ability of rotation in
almost every fixable direction as they are
connected thru a single pivot and are usually
adjustable as per the requirements. These are
used to fix doors connected to ceilings most
    likely.
  • Butt Hinges are the most commonly found hinges in
almost every household. Connected in four or more
cut fitted sections, these hinges are usually
made of alloys like brass or steel to prevent the
    corrosion and a long life.
  • Case hinges are a combination of style in to the
butt hinges. These hinges comes in unique styles
and produced specifically as required by the
    suitcase and chest manufacturers.

  • Piano hinges came in light and supposedly first
made for the huge piano cases needed to have a
long hinge to close properly. These type of
hinges are long enough to cover the whole side of
the door or case cover and support and divide the
    weight of the sides equally.
  • Concealed Hinges are most commonly used in modern
day cabinets and furniture where the doors are
small and less in weight. Their magnificent
design can be separated in two parts in which one
part called arm and connects two sides called
hinge cups. These hinges are the most adjustable
type of hinges and thus gives a better movement
to our cabinet doors built close to each other.
  • Butterfly Hinges are one of the ancient designs
of hinges and is still in use for its features
and durability as well as ease of fixing. Also
known as dovetail hinges these were very much
popular in seventeenth century and are easy to be
found in artifacts of that time. Chests, table
drawers and cabinet doors can easily been seen
carrying a butterfly hinge in their connected
corners as these are fully visible and fixed upon
the outer side of the door. Popularity of
butterfly hinges can be described over the fact
that Wonderful designs, color were made in
different materials and are used to decorate the
    door sides in 17th century.

  • Flag Hinges are made in such a way that these can
be taken apart from the axis pin and can joint
back as per the requirement. Made in left and
right hand rotation sides these hinges can move
up to 360 degree rotation around the axis pin.
These hinges are used to fix lightweight
materials like PVC, upvc and aluminum doors.
  • Strap Hinges are one of the earliest designs of
Hinges and were originally made to decorate and
support the heavy weight of wooden main doors of
huge palaces in and across the Europe and Asia.
These hinges can easily be spotted due to the
long leaves with number of holes to fix them in
doors. These are found in different colors and
carved designs to match with the exteriors and
interiors of palaces in some origins.
  • H Hinges are actually looks like an H alphabet
when open. Hinges manufacturers India are
designed to be joint in a smaller pivot to
restrict the movement in a small space. These are
usually used in small cabinet doors mounted
    closely.

  • HL Hinges are an advance designed part of H shape
Hinges where one leave extends in one side and
forms another L shape and is fixed in heavy
cabinet doors to support the weight from two
sides. These hinges are not much used in practice
and is a medieval design of hinges.
  • Self-Closing Hinges are a group of hinges which
are equipped with spring and speed regulators in
some cases to control their speed of opening and
closers. These hinges are almost like the spring
hinges but also use hydraulics to regulate the
speed of closing to avoid unnecessary damage and
    sound while flipping up together.

contacted for the supply of hinges and other
basic hardware fittings around the world. All
