  a deep and rich history since the introduction of

1. The power of 1

• ONE.
• Yes one and nothing else. This number plate is
  recognised as the most expensive plate in the
  world, and it was sold at a staggering price of
  Dh31 million to Mr. Abdullah Al Mahri in Abu
  Dhabi.

2. No offensive Plates Please

• The DVLA registration committee meet twice a year
  before the release of new registrations in March
  and September to remove any potentially offensive
  registration from the series about to be
  released. However, some do manage to slip
  through. Keep an eye out for them.

3. The history of T 8

• The earliest known celebrity car registration was
  owned by Harry Tate, a Music Hall Artist. The
  number was T 8. Currently, its owned by Johnny
  Tate of the Tate and Lyle sugar company.

4. The ban of J1 HAD

• The number plate J1 HAD was banned as soon as the
  J registrations were issued in 1991. Thats
  because it spelt Jihad. The DVLA then decided to
  ban any number plate having any similarity to
  that word Jihad (e.g. JH11 HAD, J14 HAD etc.).

5. Personalized plates are a TOP investment

• Its a pretty well-known fact that personalized
  plates provide good investment opportunities. A
  simple example can demonstrate this. The 1 A
  number plate fetched 160,000 at an auction in
  1989. If it ever comes up for auction again, it
  would likely cost a record price of 500,000
  (more than double its initial price).

• Robbie Williams, the famous singer cum songwriter
  purchased the registration number S8 RRY for his
  new Ferrari.
• He bought that particularly plate to say sorry to
  his fans for spending too much money on his new
  car.
