- Quarraisha Abdool Karim won a French prize
- Acclaimed HIV researcher Professor Quarraisha
Abdool Karim, has been awarded one of France's
top science prizes. - She won the 500 000 Christophe Merieux Prize for
her work for the Durban-based Centre for the AIDS
Programme of Research in South Africa (Caprisa),
which she heads. - She is best known for a study that found that a
topical gel could stop many women catching HIV. - Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award
- Women peacekeepers from India and Brazil have
jointly won the United Nations Military Gender
Advocate of the Year 2019 Award. - Major Suman Gawani of the Indian Army and
Commander Carla Monteiro de Castro Araujo, a
Brazilian Naval officer, have been chosen for
the award. - They received the award during an online ceremony
presided over by UN Secretary-General António
Guterres on 29 May 2020. - Mirabai Chanu nominated for Arjuna award
- Lifter Mirabai Chanu has been nominated for the
Arjuna award by the national federation. - She is already a recipient of Khel Ratna,

contribution to peacekeeping efforts in the

- Indian-American inventor Rajiv Joshi has bagged

- RITES Ltd has signed an agreement to buy 24
stake in Indian Railway Station Development Corp.

for making and sharing animated images or GIFs. - Giphy will now work as part of the Instagram

- Apple has acquired virtual reality startup NextVR
