3About of Odissi Indian Classical Dance
Odissi dance is from the state of Odisha in
eastern India and is one of the oldest surviving
Indian dance forms. Odissi or Orissi is one of
the pre-eminent classical dance forms of India
which originated in the Hindu temples of the
eastern coastal state of Odisha in India. Age-old
tradition of Odissi is manifested from Odisha
Hindu temples and various sites of archaeological
significance that are associated with Jainism,
Hinduism and Buddhism, the sculptures of which
adorn dance postures of this art form.

Ragini is an Odissi Indian Classical dancer and a
discipline of Guru Shradha, a non-profit

Mohanty. Ragini has her dance training at a young
age from Guru Protima Bedi and she has also taken
additional training from Guru Kelucharan
Mohapatra. Today, Ragini Vecham is at Guru
Shradha with her two daughters, and also serves
