In response to the on-going pandemic COVID-19,
passengers can rebook any American Airlines
Flight without penalty provided the ticket was
purchased prior to 1.3. 2020, for travel through
31.5.2020 and if the ticket was purchased
anywhere between 1.3.2020 and 15.4.2020, for any
travel date.
2American Flight cancellations made within 24
hours from the time of original booking will be
free of cost regardless of fare selected. To
cancel a non-refundable flight ticket, passengers
may be required to pay between 200 to 750
depending upon the type of ticket purchased. The
remaining amount will be compensated with an
eVoucher which will expire one year after its
issue date. Passengers can use up to 8 vouchers
at one time only if the total price of the ticket
exceeds the original value of their vouchers.
Fees to change for award tickets depends upon the
distance of your flight and your loyalty status
with the American Airlines.
3For Basic Economy ticket American Airlines will
not allow cancellation unless it is cancelled
within 24 hours from the time of original
purchase. After paying the cancellation fees,
passengers can apply the unused amount of
American Airlines Ticket towards a future trip as
long as their new trip does not begin any later
than one year from the date of purchase of the
ticket. Cancellations made on refundable ticket
any time before departure of the flight the
refund amount will be initiated in your original
credit card within 7 working days.
4A refundable ticket can be cancelled any time
before the departure time, passengers will be
reimbursed on their original payment method. A
non-refundable ticket may require additional
charges- 200 for domestic tickets and 200-750
dollars for international flights. In case the
ticket was purchased through a travel agency,
then passengers can refer to their travel agents
for its policies. Wavering cancellation fees for
American flight may greatly depend on the reason
why you cancelled your flight or you may be asked
for proof. If the airlines find that passengers
have a legitimate reason to waive their
cancellation fees then the request will be
processed.
