• About- Achilles tendon rupture (tear) is a
  medical condition in which the Achilles tendon,
  the strong fibrous cord that connects the back
  calf muscles to heel bone, can tear (rupture)
  completely or just partially due to
  overstretching.
• Symptoms-
• Sharp pain, and swelling near the heel
• Inability to bend the foot downward
• Inability to stand on the toes on the injured leg
• Snapping sound may be heard as the tendon breaks
• Difficulty walking
• Causes-
• Sports Activities like soccer, basketball, and
  tennis
• Sudden or by force plantarflexion or dorsiflexion
  of the ankle
• Falling from a height
• Stepping into a hole
• Steroid Injections
• Side effects of certain antibiotics
• Obesity
