  • Sharp pain, and swelling near the heel
  • Inability to bend the foot downward
  • Inability to stand on the toes on the injured leg
  • Snapping sound may be heard as the tendon breaks
  • Difficulty walking
  • Causes-
  • Sports Activities like soccer, basketball, and
    tennis
  • Sudden or by force plantarflexion or dorsiflexion
    of the ankle
  • Falling from a height
  • Stepping into a hole
