Different Types of Smokers According to How They
Generate Heat
2
  • Many people love to eat barbeque cooked on smoker
grills that generate both smoke and heat
exclusively from burning wood. Smokers allow you
to cook food at low temperatures in a controlled,
smoky environment. There are a plethora of
smokers from custom-made offset smokers to
outdoor reverse flow offset smokers to smaller
ones that you can pack on camping trips. Here are
different types of smokers based on how they
    generate heat

3
Stick Burners
  • As the name implies, these smokers rely solely on
wood as their source of fuel. These types of
    offset smokers require near-constant attention
during cooking and also have a steep learning
    curve.

4
Charcoal Smokers
  • This category includes bullet smokers, ceramic
kamado ovens and drum smokers. They dont need as
much near attention as stick ones, once coals are
lit, you just adjust the temperature with
    built-in dampers that control airflow.

5
Pellet Smokers
  • Similar to a kitchen oven, the pellet smoker or
pellet grills can be thermostatically controlled.
Plug it in, set the temperature and the smoker
will automatically fed pellets of compressed
sawdust into fire pot to combust as needed for
    smoke and heat.
