What is Diabetes?
  • Diabetes is a diseases in which your blood
    glucose or blood sugar, level are too high.
  • Glucose comes from the foods you eat.
  • Insulin is a hormone that helps the glucose get
    into your cell to give them energy.

What is normal Blood Sugar?
  • Normal blood sugar levels are less than 100 mg/dL
    after not eating (fasting) for at least eight
    hours. And they're less than 140 mg/dL two hours
    after eating.
  • During the day, levels tend to be at their lowest
    just before meals. For most people without
    diabetes, blood sugar levels before meals hover
    around 70 to 80 mg/dL. For some people, 60 is
    normal for others, 90 is the norm.

    can cause serious problems.
  • It can damage your eyes, heart attack, kidneys
    failure and Nevers.

Diabetes - Increases Heart Attack Risk
  • Diabetes can cause several complications, and
    heart disease is a major one.
  • Over time, high blood glucose levels can damage
    your blood vessels.
  • Poor circulation  can also cause nerve damage,
    leading to a condition known as neuropathy.
  • Many people with diabetes are aware of how
    neuropathy can cause pain and tingling.
  • But they may not know this can also damage nerves
    elsewhere inside the body, affecting your organs
    like the heart.

Several risk factors associated with Diabetes
include
  • Family history
  • High blood pressure
  • Older than age 45
  • Ethnicity
  • Body mass index above 25 or waist size larger
    than 40 inches for men and 35 inches for women
  • Physically inactive
