Paris 1889

• The exhibition at Paris 1889 or The Exposition
  Universelle Of 1889 was a world fair held at
  Paris, France. It lasted from 6th May to 31st
  October 1889. It attracted more than 32 million
  visitors and the most famous structure created
  for the Exposition, and still remaining is the
  Eiffel Tower.

• The Expositions at France are held every 11
  years, but the exposition of 1889 was special
  because it coincided with the centennial of the
  French Revolution.
• The Eiffel Tower is the only existing monument of
  the 1889 Exposition.
• It is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ
  de Mars in Paris, France. Named after its
  engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower is 300 meters
  tall.

• The 193940 New York World's Fair was a world's
  fair held at Flushing MeadowsCorona
  Park in Queens, New York, United States. It was
  the second-most expensive American world's fair
  of all time, exceeded only by St.
  Louis's Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904.
  Many countries around the world participated in
  it, and over 44 million people attended its
  exhibits in two seasons.

•  It was the first exposition to be based on the
  future, with an opening slogan of "Dawn of a New
  Day", and it allowed all visitors to take a look
  at "the world of tomorrow".
• When World War II began four months into the 1939
  World's Fair, many exhibits were affected,
  especially those on display in the pavilions of
  countries under Axis occupation. After the close
  of the fair in 1940, many exhibits were
  demolished or removed

• The expo was broadcasted live on the black and
  white televisions. To convince the visitors it
  was not a trick the TVs were built with
  transparent sides so that the visitors could see
  it.
• The fair was organized around themes
  Transportation Zone, the Communications
  Business Zone, the Food Zone, the Govt. Zone
  the Amusement Zone.

Montreals Expo 67

• The 1967 International and Universal
  Exposition or Expo 67, as it was commonly known,
  was a general exhibition, Category One World's
  Fair held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, from April
  27 to October 29, 1967. It is considered to be
  the most successful World's Fair of the 20th
  century with the most attendees to that date and
  62 nations participating. It also set the
  single-day attendance record for a world's fair,
  with 569,500 visitors on its third day.

• Expo 67 was Canada's main celebration during
  its centennial year. It was awarded to them in
  the late 1962.
• After Expo 67 ended in October 1967, the site and
  most of the pavilions continued on as an
  exhibition called Man and His World, open during
  the summer months from 1968 until 1984. By that
  time, most of the buildingswhich had not been
  designed to last beyond the original
  exhibitionhad deteriorated and were dismantled.
  Today, the islands that hosted the world
  exhibition are mainly used as parkland and for
  recreational use, with only a few remaining
  structures from Expo 67 to show that the event
  was held there.

• Another major innovation at Expo 67 was the
  construction of the architect Buckminster
  Fuller's Geodesic Dome, at the United States
  Pavilion. Today the geodesic dome is called the
  Biosphere and is a Museum of the Environment. The
  Geodesic dome's construction used simple modular
  that fit together as triangular components that
  made up the entire dome strut was originally
  covered with a clear material, like the Crystal
  palace of 1851 in Lone 1,11 a fire later
  destroyed the covering of the geodesic dome and
  it now stands with its I structure intact.
