Dr. Joseph Markowitz received his initial medical
education in New Jersey however, it was during
his early years in SC that he found his calling
in the field of psychiatry. In fact, in 2003, he
was awarded the prestigious Columbia Behavioral
Health System Award of Excellence for his work in
psychiatry.

Pharmacotherapy Research
Dr. Joseph Markowitz also did further research on
the pharmacotherapy of substance abuse while
studying in SC research has since assisted him
in developing treatment plans for patients
experiencing drug addiction.

currently working as a psychiatrist at Prisma

Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the
