Public Key

• A public key refers to a string of characters
  that is used by a computer in order to encode or
  decode the encrypted messages that it has
  received. One has a public key on a server. It
  aids one in establishing a connection to that
  server which is encrypted.

• It is one of cPanel WHMs included FTP servers.
  
• An FTP server can be selected in the FTP Server
  Selection interface in WHM.

  Server Selection.
• Pure-FTPd
• It is one of the included FTP servers of cPanel
  WHM.
• One can select an FTP server in the FTP Server
  Selection interface in WHM.

Propagation
In the context of web hosting, propagation is the
spread of the DNS information of a domain across
the Internet.  Web hosting refers to those
services and technologies that are provided by a
web hosting company to website owners along with
leasing server space to them, so that they can
store on the server the files of their websites
and make these accessible over the
Internet. There are various types of web hosting.
It can be shared, dedicated, cloud, VPS,
reseller, WordPress etc. The web hosting
companies that offer reliable web hosting
services are also referred to as the Best

Proxy Server
A proxy server is a server which receives users
requests and then forwards those requests to
other servers.

Quotas
Quotas are the limits that are imposed on the
amount of system resources which might be used by
a user, such as bandwidth or disk space
etc. Quotas can be set up in the Initial Quota
Setup interface in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt Server
Configuration -gt Initial Quota Setup. The Quota
Modification interface in WHM can be used to
modify the disk space quota of a user. WHM -gt
Home -gt Account Functions -gt Quota Modification.

Raw Opts (Custom Configuration Flags)
These are the lines of data that can be added by
advanced users to a specific file on the server
for the purpose of customizing the configuration
of the Apache.

Realtime Blackhole List (RBL)
RBL is a list of mail servers. These mail servers
send spam. One can subscribe to RBL and block
mail that is coming from these mail servers. This
can be done in the Exim Configuration Manager
interface in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt Service
Configuration -gt Exim Configuration Manager.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
It is a commercial Linux operating system
distribution.  To digress, web hosting can be
Linux-based or Windows-based. Web hosting is the
service provided by web hosting companies that
are also called web hosts, which enables a
website to be accessible by everyone over the
Internet. Web hosts offer various plans in which
these services along with server space is
provided to the website owners. These web hosts
are often known by terms such as, the Best

Redirect
It is a feature that directs users to a different
domain than the one that they tried to access. An
example is when a user reaches xyz.com when they

-gt Domains -gt Redirects.

Referer (HTTP Referer)
It is a web page which links to a website. The

regexp. Regular expressions enable one to

A relayer is that user by whom emails are

wants to view the users on ones server who have
relayed mail, it can be done through the View
Relayers interface in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt Email

Release Tiers
RELEASE It is one of the release tiers of cPanel
WHM. This tiers versions are complete with
regard to the features and well-tested. Release
Tiers The release tiers of cPanel WHM are
mentioned here, in order from the least to the
most stable, EDGE, CURRENT, RELEASE, STABLE, and
LTS.

Reseller
With regard to the web hosting industry,
resellers make use of server resources, such as
bandwidth and disk space, and in turn sell these
resources to individual users of cPanel WHM in
the form of smaller packages. Reseller accounts
can be created in the Create a New Account
interface in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt Account
Functions -gt Create a New Account. Resellers and
their accounts can be managed in the Reseller
Center interface in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt
Resellers -gt Reseller Center.

Resolver
A resolver refers to the DNS systems client
side. Resolvers are the programs by which DNS
queries are processed. These function to procure
an IP address from a URL. In Linux and Unix, it
is the /etc/resolv.conf file that points to the
resolvers of a server.  Resolvers can be updated
in the Resolver Configuration interface in
WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt Networking Setup -gt Resolver
Configuration.

Restoration
It is a process in web hosting which uses backup
files in order to replicate an account that is on
a server. This proves to be useful in the event
that a damage file or data needs to be recovered
as well as in the event that a hardware failure
occurs. Account restoration can be managed in the
Transfer or Restore a cPanel Account interface
in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt Transfers -gt Transfer or
Restore a cPanel Account.

Restricted Restore
Restricted Restore is a feature in WHM.
Additional security checks are performed by it on
backup files. Post that such files are restored
to the server.  Account restoration can be
managed in the Transfer or Restore a cPanel
Account interface in WHM. WHM -gt Home -gt
Transfers -gt Transfer or Restore a cPanel Account.

Reverse DNS lookup (rDNS)
rDNS is a process in which pointer records (PTR)
are used to convert IP addresses to domain names.

Rootevere
Root might refer to either of the following- The
system account that is specific to Unix and
Unix-based systems. This account is used by the
system administrator. Such an account has full
privileges to be able to configure a computer
system. In a Unix or in a Unix-based system, a
root can refer to the highest-level directory.
