Soak The Almonds
The first step in creating your own organic
almond milk at home is to soak the almonds
overnight. Simply place some almonds in a bowl
and cover it with an inch of water. Make sure
that you cover the bowl with a cloth and soak the
almonds for at least 2 days. The consistency will
always be creamier when it is soaked for a longer
time.

Drain And Combine With Water
Drain the almonds and rinse them with cold water.
Make sure you discard the soaking water as it
contains phytic acid. Add 2 cups of water to the
soaked almonds and place the mixture in a blender
or food processor.

Blend The Mixture
Blend this mixture of almonds and water in a
blender at the highest speed for 2 full minutes.
The almonds should be broken down into a fine
meal. If you are using a food processor, then
process the mixture for about 4 minutes.

Strain The Almonds
Take a strainer and line it with a cheesecloth or
an opened nut milk bag. Now, pour the almond
mixture into the strainer. Gather the cloth and
start squeezing the mixture as much as you can.
you should be able to extract approximately 2
cups of almond milk.

Sweeten If Required
While some people prefer almond milk in its
unsweetened form while others enjoy flavours like
coconut, chocolate and vanilla.
