Program

• Andrew Lesnak provided victims with affordable
  housing as well as training to enhance their
  earning capabilities, making the homeownership
  more affordable
• He also helped them communicate effectively, and
  make the proper financial decisions, to help in
  the rebuilding of their lives
• Andrew has never forgotten the mental challenges
  that he had to face, during Hurricane Sandy,
  which is what has been the foundation of his
  volunteerism

to Cope with Rebuilding his Life

• He made use of volunteerism to rebuild his life
  both professionally and personally

  productive and therapeutic

  decline, under those who were cared for under
  his watch

• He served as a counselor, to address the mental
  and physical health issues of the people affected
  by hurricane, because he could relate to their
  suffering
• He had an emotional connection for those
  suffering from depression, anxiety, substance
  abuse and other traumatic disorders
• He counseled them so that they can find something
  hopeful and meaningful to rebuild their lives in
  a positive way
• Through his consistent acts of volunteerism, he
  is regularly recognized by the various New Jersey
  non -profit organizations, focused on mental
  health and wellness

Andrew was leading an Active and Successful
Lifestyle prior to Hurricane Sandy

• Andrew Lesnak had retired and lived in a
  beautiful waterfront home
• Immediately after his losses suffered because of
  the hurricane, he had fallen into a depressive
  state, as the harsh realities of his situation
  became evident
• The Red Cross provided Andrew with the required
  1st Responders assistance, and addressed his
  disaster needs promptly and professionally
• The Red Cross continued to support him, at his
  greatest time of need, which allowed him the time
  required to get properly treated both mentally
  and physically
