Title: recycling (the three r's) - presentation
1Recycling
2What is recycling?
- To recycle to treat or process used materials or
waste so we can use these materials again. - This stops us from wasting useful materials
- Did you know? Up to 60 of rubbish that ends up
in trash bins could be recycled.
3We use Earths resources to make products.
Resources are things like water, trees, and
minerals. We use resources to make paper,
plastic, glass, and many other things.
Conservation means not wasting resources. All
conservation could be described using the three
Rs Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
4The three Rs
- Reducing is using fewer resources. The less we
use the less we throw away. Reducing the amount
of power, water and products you use conserves
resources. Remember, paper products come from
trees. If we use fewer paper towels or notebook
paper we will buy less. Therefore, fewer trees
will be cut down and made into products. - Reusing is when we use things more than once.
Using things more than once, consumes fewer
resources. Reusing materials is not only cheaper,
it is also eco-friendly. - Recycling is turning waste into new things.
Glass, metal, and plastic are recyclable. In an
effort to conserve resources, many materials are
recycled.
5 Using recycled materials in crafts is a great way
to create while using items that we have at home.
These materials includes anything from old
plastic toys and vehicle tires to scraps of cloth
and building supplies. Artists who make recycled
art take those materials and make them into
something new.
