  • Keep your browsers updated. Browsers are the
first layer of your system that get attacked as
soon as a malicious code hosting site is accessed
or a malicious link is clicked.

  • Install pop-up blockers. Pop-ups and ads can be
annoying but worst of all they can install
virus-like code on your machine or download

can be enabled from browser settings.

SECURITY CONTROL 4 Phishing Protection
  • Do not click open attachments from unknown
sources or the links embedded in emails from
unknown persons. The attachments or links
embedded in emails can compromise your system and
download malware , disable or bypass existing
antivirus as well as completely take over your
    systems by encrypting data.
  • Most of the phishing mails try to allure you to
click open the link or attachment by showing some
urgency such as your bank account is locked or
    your password has expired.
  • Some phishing mails promise you of lottery money
and ask you to fill out information of your bank
account or credit card for verification purposes.
  • Note that no bank , institution will ever ask you
about your identity or credentials over email.
You may install phishing protection in your
browser as well as select an antivirus with
    phishing protection.
