How to Handle Gas Cylinders?

How to Handle Gas Cylinders?
  • Cylinders should never come in contact with any
apparatus that uses electricity, because it can
lead to internal arcing, which will damage or
even melt the cylinders. Keep cylinders away from
    open flames, sparks, or slag.
  • Try to utilize the standard size of keys for all
the gas cylinders. Avoid using worn keys and long
wrenches, or trying to add more gas to them do
not lengthen the wrenches or restlessly stretch
    them.

  • There is a possibility of injury to the regulator
if the regulator is attached before allowing the
cylinder to drop to its proper pressure, even if
you are aware of the potential.
  • In the event of gas leakage, close the valve and
tighten the nut. And, if it does not seal the
leaks, remove the pipe and cut it open. let your
    gas company know this issue.

How to Handle Gas Cylinders?
  • The manifolds and cylinders shall be thoroughly
inspected before and after each use to detect
    possible leakage between connection points.
Liquid can be applied using a spray or brush to
check for a possible leak while inspecting the
    joint or point of attachment.
  • Shut off valves when not in use and/while you're
not actively working with the cylinder.

5
How to Handle Gas Cylinders?
  • No welding or cutting equipment should be used
unless oxygen and fuel regulators are attached.
As well as making sure the correct LPG regulator
    is attached to the cylinders.

6
How to Handle Gas Cylinders?
  • It is unsafe to use only a needle valve, as this
could allow gases to flow in the wrong direction
and create a vacuum in the cylinders. When the
gases are shut off, a needle valve is used
instead of a regulator, which may cut off the
    hose.
  • If a cylinder overheats due to inappropriate or
incorrect use of the equipment, it must be vented
right away or dealt with immediately.

7
How to Handle Gas Cylinders?
  • Where the LPG cylinder is attached to the
manifold, the crimp connector has to be present
    in the proper form.
  • The regulators and hoses should never be attached
to the cylinders unless a proper trolley or cart
is used. The cylinder mover must be in place when
    using a trolley valve.

How to Handle Gas Cylinders?
  • If a cylinder overheats due to inappropriate or
incorrect use of the equipment, it must be vented
right away or dealt with immediately.
  • Never use cylinders as rollers, as work supports,
and never use them as jack forms.
