A tooth infection is a collection of pus made up
of dead white blood cells and bacteria.
Why do we get tooth infections?
A tooth infection is usually a result of dental
trauma, untreated cavities that spread to the
nerve, trapped food in the gums or prior dental
work. If left untreated, the infection can lead
to serious health complications.

How can it be treated?
The infection can usually be drained and treated
with antibiotics. The tooth can usually be saved
with a root canal treatment but in rare cases,
the tooth might need to be extracted.
