15 Real Problems After Intercaste Marriage
  • We have achieved high levels of growth rate and
we have also been successful in removing some
forms of inequalities in the society. We have
made pioneering developments in technology and
helped achieve equality in the form of education
for all. But these achievements are of no use as
long as the rifts between castes and religions
still form the basis of our society.
  • How can we call a progressive and modern country
when two people who are in love with each other
are allowed to live together? What is most needed
is to tackle the challenges faced by inter-caste
marriages in the country in such a way that love
wins over the evils of the caste system. Knowing
the problems faced by interracial couples is a
step in this direction. Here are 15 common
    problems faced by interracial couples

2
1.Couple is rejected by families
Couples who show the courage to marry each other
despite the disapproval of their families, have
to say goodbye to their families forever. They
are rejected by their respective families, who
break all ties with the couple. For families,
conservative values ??and principles become more
important than their son or daughter.

3
  • 2.The couple is ostracized by the community
  • Not only do the couples families disapprove and
break ties with the couple, but the community at
large also excludes the couple and creates
problems in the couples life. The people in the
community do not interact with the couple and
ignore the existence of the couple. In rural
areas, they are not even allowed to live in their
    village.
  • 3. Social pressure makes life stressful for the
    couple
  • Since inter-caste marriage is not well accepted
in the Indian society, the couple has to face a
lot of social pressure. No one will support the
couple, especially if they have married without
parental approval. When renting an apartment,
landlords can make inter-caste marriages an
issue. The couple may have no friends and no
relatives may come forward to offer any help.

4
  • 4. Lifestyle differences are hard to cope with
  • Obviously, peers will have different lifestyles
and cultures because they belong to different
races. This means they have to adjust and adapt
to these differences. Most of the couples fail to
do this, as arguments and fights become a common
occurrence between the couples. 5. Continuous
interference of family members in married life
  • Even if the families approve of the inter-caste
marriage, we can still see that there is constant
interference of family members in the life of the
married couple. They try to impose their family
and caste norms on the couple at all times. Under
such pressures, love usually takes a backseat and
the couple themselves get embroiled in caste
    politics.
  • 6. A sense of superiority can damage the
    relationship
  • One of the comrades may think that his caste is
far superior and better than his mates caste.
This will create a sense of superiority in the
person and he/she may start behaving in a
degrading manner with the partner. After some
time, this can lead to dissatisfaction and
    eventually break the marriage.

5
  • 7. Survival Gets Really Difficult for Couples
  • Honor killings have become very popular in the
country. National Crime Records Bureau figures
put the number of people killed in this category
at 251 in 2015. Note, these are only reported
    cases.
  • Honor killings have become very popular in the
country. National Crime Records Bureau figures
put the number of people killed in this category
at 251 in 2015. Note, these are only reported
cases. Therefore, it is clear that the couple
will live in constant fear, as their survival
    will become really difficult.
  • 8. Financial issues faced by the couple
  • The couple is left to fend for themselves. They
do not get any support from their families or
friends. Some relatives also create hurdles when
the couple tries to earn a living and live life
on their own. Due to all this, financial problems
are faced by the couple, which creates more
    emotional pressure on the alliance.

6
  • 9. Couples also have to suffer professionally
  • At times, the couple has to suffer professionally
as well. Inter-caste marriage may not be accepted
by the offices of both the partners, and people
in the workplace may treat them with hatred. One
may face harassment at the place of work and may
also have to leave on unethical grounds.
  • 10. Couples have to listen to taunts on a regular
    basis
  • After marriage, the couple has to hear taunts on
a regular basis. Instead of accepting the
marriage, relatives and friends keep looking for
ways to humiliate and humiliate the couple. For
    example, a wifes mother-in-law,
    grandmother-in-law and family aunts always
criticize her for her dressing sense, her looks,
    etc.

7
  • 11. Couples can have disagreements when it comes
    to raising children
  • There may be disagreement between the couple over
the matter of raising their children. For
example, there will be a difference of opinion as
to which religion or caste children should follow
and so on, which festivals should be celebrated,
which gods should be worshipped, which cultural
morals should be imparted. should be done and
it can put the relationship in trouble.
  • 12. Instability in Inter-caste Marriage
  • The chances of an inter-caste marriage breaking
up are very high as there is a constant
difference of attitude and interest between the
couple. Along with this are social pressures that
can destroy love. Therefore, the married and
family life of an inter-caste couple is generally
    considered very unstable.

8
  • 13. Interracial marriage is psychologically
    exhausting
  • If the inter-caste couple is unable to live up to
each others expectations, the couple regrets
their decision and blames each other. As a
result, the couple will be disappointed and
    unhappy with each other..
  • 14. Children of inter-caste couple also face
    discrimination
  • Children of inter-caste couple are always in
dilemma as to which caste or religion they belong
to. Even when asked, they fail to give a clear
answer about it, due to which they are treated
    differently by other people.
  • 15. Inheritance problems are common in
    inter-caste marriages
  • Generally, both the families fail to accept the
inter-caste couple, due to which problems related
to inheritance become common. The inter-caste
couple may have to deal with property and money
disputes to get their share of the entitlement.
As you can see, the inter-caste couple has to go
through many family problems and troubles to stay
together and have a happy married life. By facing
these problems and being ready to support each
other at all times, an inter-caste couple can be
successful in achieving a prosperous married
    life.
