Future in the Realm of Agriculture

• Agriculture in India provides a living for the
  bulk of the people and should never be
  overlooked.

  Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR),

  weather conditions. India is the world's biggest
  producer of milk, spices, pulses, tea, cashew,
  and jute, as well as rice, wheat, oilseeds,
  fruits and vegetables, sugarcane, and cotton.

• 2. Subsistence farming, which puts the size of
  the economy in jeopardy with the preponderance of
  small holdings.
• 3. Farmers' choices on input purchases and
  product sales are influenced by a lack of credit
  and the prominence of unorganised creditors.
• 4. A lack of technological innovation,
  mechanisation, and low productivity, the first
  two of which are significant concerns.

• 5. In comparison to industrialised nations, there
  is very little value addition and very little
  primary-level processing at the farmer level.
• 6. Farming infrastructure is poor, putting a
  greater reliance on the weather, marketing, and
  supply chain for high-value commodities.
• Agriculture's future is a critical issue for
  planners and all other stakeholders.
