ABOUT UNIVERSITY
NIFTEM (National Institute of Food Technology
Entrepreneurship and Management ) operates under
the aegis of the Government of India ( Ministry
of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI). The
primary aim of the institute is to develop
world-class-leading students and facilities that
can massively benefit the food industry. Further,
the institute aims to provide quality skilled
grads to organizations in the food sector and
bridge the gap. Located at Kundli Haryana, the
institute is hardly anywhere away from the
National capital. The institute intends to offer
world-class education. Thus the institute is well
equipped with facilities like labs, social
classrooms, projection systems, placements cell,
and unique opportunities for students.
Furthermore, the institute explores innovative
concepts like village adoption to develop a more
holistic learning experience.

HISTORY
NIFTEM established in 2012 by the Government of
India, is a unique kind of institute in India.
The institute was established with a huge budget
of 500 cores. After the completion of the
structure of the institute, it was inaugurated by
Sharad Pawar. In its first year, the institute
offered B.teh and M.tech degrees in various
specializations. Furthermore, NIFTEM in 2013
introduced its Ph.D. programs. It recently added
an MBA program as well. The institute in recent
years also awarded degrees to the first batch,
and thus, a convocation ceremony was done and
attended by the President of India. Moreover, the
institute also recently opened its incubation
center, which aims at equipping young graduates
with the ability to open their own startups.

RANKING
To rank a college is not an easy task however,
proper ranking methodology and techniques help to
smoothen the ranking process. The major ranking
educational college mechanism in the world is QS,
and in India, it is NIRF both these rankers
evaluate the colleges and institute rigorously.
Therefore various ranking factors and parameters
are at play while ranking a college some of the
most important parameters are. The infrastructure
o the college, student to faculty ratio, faculty
knowledge base, and foreign and national students
ratio. Recently NIFTEM secured the 121st position
as per NIRF ranking.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Infrastructure directly in one glance shows the
capability of a college. Proper infrastructure
coupled with adequate staff and teaching faculty
is the o to the requirement for a student.
Moreover, quality education and holistic learning
are achievable through the ample availability of
infrastructure and facilities. Colleges with
proper infrastructure contribute directly and
indirectly to the overall development of a
graduate. The infrastructure available at the
institute is as follows. Library The library
(NKC) at NIFTEM has numerous print books,
documents, e-books, Journals. It also has a
subscription to e-resources. The library is
automated using WEb-OPAC. Furthermore, its is
available not only to students but also to staffs
and faculties. The library uses RFID tagging as
well. NKC also provides a number of services like
Reprographics, book alerts, and web mining
guidance. Furthermore, the library provides NPTEl
services. Moreover, for overall automation, the
library uses VTLS-Vertua software.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Sports NIFTEM has 2 Play Courts of Lawn Tennis,
Basketball and Volleyball, 4 Play Courts of
Badminton, 2 Cricket Practice Pitch, 1 Football
Ground, 1 Kabaddi Ground, and NIFTEM Central Gym.
Furthermore, the institute organizes spotting
events and keeps the students engaged in various
sports to keep them active and fit. The sports
club or society known as samarthya at the college
organizes a sporting event NSNIFTEM SPORTS
LEAGUE. Furthermore, the institute also has
indoor sports. Hostel All students at NIFTEM
resides in the hostel as it is mandatory.
Therefore, separate hostels for gents and ladies
are available. The hostels are spacious, neat,
and clean. Moreover, the hostels feature a
gymnasium and a common room for fitness and
entertainment.

INFRASTRUCTURE

• Incubation Centre
• The institute opened up its incubation center in
  2018 with a budget of 50 Cr. The incubation
  center visions to stand as a major contributor to
  the development of entrepreneurs. Furthermore,
  the center also acts as a link to outside
  companies that may like to test their products.
• Other Facilities
• Guest House Air-conditioned guest house ins
  available on campus.
• Medical Facility A doctor stays on the campus
  during academic hours. Furthermore, for
  emergencies, a nurse and an ambulance are readily
  available.
• Canteen and Cafeteria The canteen is open 2487
  and serves food to staff and students. Moreover,
  a cafeteria is available for snacks and
  appetizers or light eatables.
• Auditorium A well-equipped auditorium with a
  seating capacity of 650 individuals is available
  on campus.

COURSES OFFERED
Courses and programs The institute offers UG,
PG, and Ph.D. programs. The UG program is B.tech
in food technology and management. The program
offers a course that enhances students' skills to
master the craft. M.tech course is offered in
five specializations FTM (Food Technology and
Management), FPOM (Food Plant Operation
Management), FSQM (Food Safety and Quality
Management), FSCM (Food Supply Chain Management),
FPEM (Food Process Engineering and Management).
Furthermore, in MBA dual specializations are
available one in Food and Agri-Business
Management (Compulsory) and the other in One of
(Marketing/ Finance / International Business).
