What is IVF? How does it assist childless couples?

• IVF stands for in vitro fertilization this is the
  process that involves the combination of male
  sperms and female eggs in the laboratory to
  generate an embryo. Here, In Vitro means outside
  the body, and Fertilisation means attachment of
  sperms and eggs.
• There are various factors that determine the
  success rate of IVF these factors are - 
• Dual fertility factors
• Usage of donor eggs
• Age factor
• Duration of fertility
• History of previous pregnancy
• Ovulation dysfunction

How is IVF done-

• The first stage includes the woman taking
  injections towards the stimulation of her
  ovaries. The ovaries produce follicles. These
  follicles are the cysts in the ovaries filled
  with fluid. These fluid-filled cysts contain the
  egg. 

• Subsequently, a procedure carried out under
  anaesthesia removes eggs from the ovaries under
  the guidance of an ultrasound.

• The next stage involves fertilization of the egg
  and sperm in the laboratory under a controlled
  environment. 

• The embryos (Fertilized eggs) are subsequently
  transferred into the womans uterus to induce
  pregnancy.

  period and the ovaries produce excess male
  hormone levels that is androgens. The ovaries can
  also develop numerous small collection of fluid
  which may fail to release eggs regularly. This
  may affect the women's appearance, fertility and
  menstrual cycle. IVF helps the women to conceive
  easily.

• Uterine fibroids- Uterine fibroids are basically
  the non cancerous growth of the uterus that it
  occurs more often during the childbearing years.
  The uterine fibroids are not associated with any
  increased risk of uterine cancer and it almost
  never develop into cancer. Uterine fibroids are
  small sized growths that ranges in size from
  seedlings, data and detected by human eye to the
  huge masses that can enlarge the uterus. IVF is
