Rising Dragonfly
1888PressRelease - Vigilante battles a terrorist
gang to protect the most vulnerable in Houstons
gritty underground. HOUSTON, Texas Fans of
martial arts, action and adventure have a new
warrior to welcome in debut novelist Jason
Bujnochs Rising Dragonfly. In the urban fiction
book, the wildly eccentric Ting sets out to
protect a group of homeless folks after a gang of
terrorist shrimpers start removing them from
their long-established riverside encampment. Set
in The Bayou Citys gritty, gothic underground of
cross-dressing nightclubs and dark waterways, the
book features an unforgettable group of outcasts
surviving amid the flotsam and jetsam in the
shadows beneath the elevated freeways. Ting
teams up with a three-hundred-pound female
impersonator, a whip-smart local reporter and a
pastor with a past to take out the shrimpers
and find out whos been ordering the elimination
of Houstons most vulnerable. When Ting
encounters Terror incarnate, he must harness his
Chi and summon every skill in his Kung Fu war
chest. Dancer, martial arts enthusiast and
accidental hero, Ting takes readers on a wild
ride in this good-versus-evil, modern
street-warrior novel, said Bujnoch. But more
than the cult-classic style kung fu battles that
keep readers on the edge of their seat, Rising
Dragonfly is also about social inequity and how a
marginalized group of friends and their unlikely
savior work in solidarity to find
justice. Rising Dragonfly can be purchased
online through SDP Publishing, Amazon, Barnes and
Noble and other retailers.
