Golden Temple
It is a place where people bow down to the
presence of divine "Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji."
Situated in Amritsar, this place is one of the
most visited religious places in India.
Here, we will learn about the complete schedule
of the Golden temple so that we can never miss

Full Daily Schedule of Golden Temple
At Sri Harimandir Sahib, Gurbani Kirtan (hymns)
are sung continuously, from opening the portals
(doors) to their closing.
Here in Golden Temples premises the devotees
perform the cleaning procedures alongside they
chant melodious hymns from the Gurbani.

Kiwad (portal) Opening Time
This is the early morning time when the Kiwad of
the Shri Akal Takht Sahib. The timing of this
ceremony varies from season to season.
The appropriate time for this ceremony happens
between 200 am to 230 am.

Kirtan at Amrit Vela (Early dawn)
Right after opening the doors of Shri Akal Takht,
all the attending members start kirtan. The
kirtan includes "Shabads."
These Shabads are the indications for everyone
that the doors have been opened, and Guru Granth
Sahib Ji will be in Darbaar soon.

Palki Sahib taken from Sri Akal Takhat Sahib to
the Golden Temples premises.
At 4 am, it's time to take the Shri Guru Granth
Sahib Ji to Shri Harimandir Sahib. For this, Shri
Guru Granth Sahib Ji has been kept in the Palki
Sahib Ji, and then the attendants carry the Palki
Sahib Ji on their shoulders.

First Hukamnama
A hukamnama refers to a hymn from the Guru Granth
Sahib, given as a command to the Sikhs or a
historical command given by one of the Gurus of
Sikhism.

First Ardas
The first Ardas of the day will be performed at
500 am. The Ardas is a Sikh prayer performed
before or after the performance of a significant
task after the recitation of the morning Banis.

Reciting Rehraas Sahib in the evening when the
sun sets
Rehraas Sahib, is also known as Sodar Rehraas
Sahib.It is recited in the evening time daily and
is a part of NitNem Banis, which is the daily
routine of offering prayers for Sikhs.

Hukamnama at night
At 1030 pm, the last Hukumnama of the day will
be announced for all the Sikhs. Sikhs are advised
to follow all the Hukumnamas to stay on the path
of truth, honesty and to stay closer to God.

Departure of Palki Sahib from Sri Harimandir Sahib
After announcing the last Hukumnama of the day,
it's time to take Shri Guru Granth Sahib to Shri
Akal Takht Sahib Ji for a good night's sleep.

Sukh-Aasan Sahib at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib
At 11 pm, it's time for the sleeping rituals of
Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which is also known as
"Sukh-Aasan," which means "Sitting or Lying in
the comfortable pose."
