  • On 20 February 1987, Arunachal Pradesh became a
full state. The North-East Frontier Agency was
known until 1972. (NEFA). On 20 January 1972, it
gained the status of Union Territory and was
    renamed Arunachal Pradesh. The Legislative
Assembly, which was elected on 15 August 1975,
took office on the first Council of Ministers. In
February 1978, the Assembly's first general
election took place. The State has divided into
seventeen districts. Itanagar is the state
capital of the district of Papum Para. Itanagar
was the sage Parashuram who blasphemed his sin,
sage Vyasa meditated, king Bismaka established
his kingdom, and Lord Krishna married his Rukmini
consort. In different places in Arunachal Pradesh
the dispersed archaeological remains testify to
their rich cultural heritage. Legend has it that
Kalika Purana, as well as Ramayana and
Mahabharata, were mentioned in the epics of the
city. In the 11th century, the Dynasty of Jiti

Naara Abba
  • Kiwis were first imported from New Zealand,
Italy, and Chile, and were never thought to be an
exotic fruit. It was only after it was realized
how important it was that it was introduced to
the market. Ziro is a village in Arunachal
Pradesh's mountains. Here, too, the same wild
fruit grew. Due to a lack of information and
understanding. These fruits either rotted or were
eaten by cattle. With her farm, the creator
witnessed this. She then decided to transform it
into wine. Today, visitors can tour the winery,
meet the creator, and sample the wine.

Strengths
S

and lakes, deep valleys, green velvet of
agriculture and forest land, mighty rivers,
wildlife sanctuaries, a wide variety of flora and
fauna(525 species of orchids). Rare cats only
found in the state Tiger, Leopard, Clouded
    leopard, and Snow Leopard.
  • The majority of the industries are related to
    handicrafts, handlooms, arts, weaving cane
    bamboo, wood carving ornaments, horticulture,
cultural heritage, heritage monuments, etc. The
tribal population is warm and friendly.
  • It is also called the Power House of the North
    for the production of hydropower.
  • Key strengths highlighted include a peaceful
climate, abundant natural resources such as fresh
water, land availability, strategic location as a
gateway to ASEAN countries, enhanced connectivity
in the foothills, availability of Hindi and
    English-speaking young people with strong
    technical backgrounds, state and federal
    government incentives, and more.

30
Weaknesses
W
  • Infrastructure limitations and political concerns
    (connectivity and accessibility).
  • The number of roads that are in use is small, and
the majority of them are either under
construction or will be built in the near future.
Furthermore, building roads above 2000 meters is
    difficult.
  • Several formalities, such as obtaining permits to
join the state, must be completed.
  • Brand promotion is highly limited both
    domestically and globally.

31
Opportunities
O
  • Farm tourism and fish farming concepts could be
    promoted.
  • For example, the (Siang)Yomgo River event is an
    example of adventure tourism.
  • Trekking, mountaineering, wind surfing, sailing,
paragliding, zorbing, water skiing, as well as
other water sports have a great deal of potential
    to develop.
  • Pangsau Pass Winter Festival, for example, is a
    process of social tourism.
  • The nation has a vibrant cultural heritage, and
also some culinary delights, fairs, and
    festivities.
  • Positioning tourism development as a national
    activity and sustaining it.
  • Creating a long-term marketing strategy and
    programmes.

32
Threats
T
  • Carrying Power Constraint
  • Excessive tourism has the potential to severely
damage the environment and threaten indigenous
    societies.
  • Here, there is indeed a lack of oversight,
    safety, and infrastructure.
  • Long-distance travel with weak road
    transportation, dreadful road conditions, and
    inadequate facilities. poor infrastructure and
    amenities.
  • Other tourist destinations compete with yours.
  • There is a requirement for schooling.

34
Political
P
  • A border conflict exists between China and India.
  • The National Highway System must be enforced and
    maintained on a regular basis.
  • Permit liberalization is needed.
  • For a long time, China considered Arunachal
Pradesh to be a part of its territory.
  • Over the years, the political situation has
    remained uncertain.
  • Traditional village councils, Panchayati raj
bodies, and the legislative assembly are all in
    operation at the same time.

35
Economical
E
  • It has a lot of potential for hydropower.
  • Fruit orchards and horticulture can be
    encouraged.
  • The key industries are rice mills, fruit
preservation and processing plants, and handloom
handicrafts. The use of sawmills and the selling
of plywood are also prohibited by law. There are
    several saw mills in AP.
  • Since the majority of the population consumes
meat, ranching, canning, and meat processing
    should be pursued.
  • Participation of as many local residents as
    possible in tourism-related growth activities.
  • The use of funds generated from visitor spending
income for the socioeconomic upliftment of
    people.
  • Seats reserved for state/local residents in Hotel
    Management Institutes, Travel Tourism
    Management Institutes, and Catering Institutes.
  • Organizing a public awareness drive with the
    participation of prominent local figures.

36
Social
S
  • Traditional village councils, Panchayati raj
bodies, and the legislative assembly are all in
    operation at the same time.
  • Surges may be necessary to stop them, and
visitors must be provided with full protection on
    a global scale.
  • Due to the lack of other big established
destinations, everybody now travels to Assam in
    the north-east.
  • Caravan travel can be used to build a more
    sustainable option.
  • Globalization has mixed feelings among the
    tribes.
  • The implementation of the election feature and
the creation of higher level political bodies has
shifted the political culture and perspective of
local level leaders, training them to think in
terms of districts and whole territories rather
    than villages, communities, or tribes.
  • Tribal culture is becoming more politicized.

37
Technological investments
T
  • Itanangar is attempting to expand its
    manufacturing sector and create jobs.
  • Lack of internet connectivity and reliable
network conditions have hindered the villages'
    progress.
  • The lack of transportation access and delays
caused by bad road conditions affect villages
    outside of the main town.
  • The government must take help from central
    Financial Assistance to state government.

38
