ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Kerala University of Health Sciences is a medical
university in the city of Thrissur in Kerala,
India.The university was established in 2010. It
is located in 75 acres (30 ha) on the Government
Medical College, Thrissur campus. The university
was established on the basis of Kerala University
Health Act 2010. There are also 205 professional
colleges which have got their affiliation from
this university. KUHS has also many publications
in the fields of Pharmacology, Nursing,
Physiology, Emergency Medicine, Dermatology,
Transfusion Medicine, Toxicology, and Internal
Medicine. The university also offers UG, PG, and
Phd degrees in the various fields of Modern
Medicine, Homoeopathy Indian Systems of
Medicine including Ayurveda, Siddha, Yoga,
Naturopathy, Unani, and other allied sciences.
Admission to the majority of the courses is based
on merits in the qualifying examination.

moved and excelled in their field in different
places in the city, country and the world. The
strength of this University is the harmonious
co-existence and also vision for future shared by
all the Health Science streams under seven
faculties namely Modern Medicine, Dentistry,
Nursing, Pharmacy, Ayurveda Siddha, Homoeopathy
and Allied Health Sciences. KUHS has always been
in forefront of digitalization of processes .As a
unique initiative they embarked up on the
concept of registering the teachers of affiliated
institution and create a database which helps in
various domain of activities like quality
assurance , Examination , research , formation of
expert committee and conferring awards . Student
union of the university is pretty good and it
also managed many donation camp for cancer
patient .

HISTORY
KUHS was established in 2010 through an ordinance
and later Kerala University of Health Sciences
Act, 2010. All segments of treatment also came
under the university and medical and para-medical
colleges previously functioning under different
Universities, like University of Kerala, Mahatma
Gandhi University, Calicut University, Kannur
University, Cochin University of Science and
Technology, and Sree Sankaracharya University of
Sanskrit, also came under this university. The
territorial jurisdiction of the university shall
also extend to the whole of the State of Kerala.

INFRASTRUCTURE
The Institution also affords numerous centers to
the scholars. The library, pc labs, women not
unusualplace room, sports activities centers,
health facility ,Cultural fest National Service
Scheme , Literary fest, right to information
facility and also all of the primary
amenities. Library - The University also has a
vast collection of 8551 books amongst which 3500
are reference books. It has also more than 400
thesis works and also 12 print journals and 32 E
journals. The library also provides Photostat and
internet services to student and as well as
faculty. There is also a separate reading room
for faculty and PG students within the library.
There are also previous question papers available
from KUHS, University of Kerala and KNMC which
are always available for students reference.
