Dealing with a stubborn child is a challenge for
parents. Getting them to do even the daily basic
tasks like taking bath, eating a meal, doing
homework, or going to bed is a tough job for the

perform every days routine work. A stubborn
child does not listen to anybody neither

parents is how would I know that my child is
acting stubborn? Not every strong-willed child
is stubborn. It is important to understand
whether your child is stubborn or determined
before taking any action. The difference between
a determined and stubborn child is that
determined children ask lots of questions which
may give a rebellion impression sometimes but
these children are highly intelligent,
inquisitive, and creative. They give some
constructive opinions whereas stubborn children
stick to their opinion, no question will come
from them and will not listen to others. They can
be well described as pig-headed or bull-headed.
They stick to their wrong notion without any
reason and no creative work comes from them. Most

performance in school.

A stubborn child throws tantrums, cry loudly in
petty matters. They show their doggedness on
every small thing like if the parents deny their
access to favorite shows on television or they
are not getting their favorite snacks just before

Kids undergo various developmental changes that
make them act in that way. Some children are
stubborn by birth and parents have nothing to do.
Sometimes mishandling of parents makes them
stubborn. Some parents are so willful that they
put pressure on their children for everything
for eating, for academic purposes, for dressing
purposes, or so on. This leads them children
stubborn. They will choose on behalf of their
children what the kids will eat, what they will
wear, where they will go, etc. Their unending
expectations from their children make kids almost
suffocated and lead to stubbornness. Sometimes a
child having siblings may feel neglected or
jealous at times when parents give more attention
to the other child.

But never give up on your child if they are being
stubborn without any reason. Rather than yelling
at him, hold your patience and try to make him
understand that he has to suffer the consequence
because of his foolishness just like the teachers
of Childcare. With time this stubbornness of
