3ABOUT UNIVERSITY
The Government of Karnataka established the
Karnataka State Law University in 2009. The
university is located in Navanagar, Hubli. There
are more than 90 law colleges in Karnataka under
the Karnataka State Law University. KSLU offers
courses in both UG and PG levels with many
specializations including International Law,
Criminal Law, Trade and Business Law,
Intellectual Property Rights and Constitutional
Law. The NAAC has accredited the Karnataka State
Law University with an A Grade. Additionally,
the University Grants Commission has also
approved the institution. KSLU offers various
scholarships in accordance with the State
Government norms and UGC. Additionally, the
Karnataka State Law University has also
collaborated and entered into a Memoranda of
University with various institutions. Karnataka
State Law University Campus The Karnataka State
Law University campus spreads over 55 acres of
land. The campus has various facilities for the
students for the best learning experience.
Moreover, the campus has separate centers which
organize Moot Court Competition and other
training programs. Additionally, the KSLU campus
also has a huge library, an extensive sports
complex, a National Service Scheme along other
facilities.

5HISTORY
The Karnataka State Law University was
established by the Karnataka Government. It
focuses on reaching Global Heights but maintains
its Indian roots. As the university progressed in
the academic field, and they also started
collaborating with different companies and
institutions all over the country. As of now,
there are 92 Law colleges under the Karnataka
State Law University.
6PLACEMENTS FEE
Placements The university placement cell
organizes a recruitment drive for the students
where reputed companies participate every year.
Moreover, they also focus on various other
aspects like counselling, talks and the like so
that the students can acquire job positions that
they want. About 70 to 80 of the students get
job roles from the top recruiters. The salary
package is also very good. The students get
enough opportunities to work in companies and
some of them also get summer internships programs
which are mandatory according to some courses.
Hence, the placement cell assists the students to
acquire internships as well. Fee Structure The
university fee structure depends on the course,
the first-year fees for LLB, BALLB is INR 10,400.
Moreover, for the course, L.L.M, the first-year
fees is INR 11,850. For PG Diploma courses, the
first year fees are INR 7,320.
7INFRASTRUCTURE
Library The KSLU library is very extensive and it
helps the students conduct research and refer to
various books and journals. Additionally, the
library has a very good collection for the
faculty and staff of the university. The
university provides details with regard to the
Information Service, which is accessible to all
the students. The Karnataka State Law University
has a variety of books, magazines, journals,
newspapers, subscriptions, e-books,
dissertations, online databases and bare acts as
well. One of the most integral facilities in the
library is the Reference Service. This service
helps the students access all the resources in
the library. Additionally, it also helps the
faculty and students locate the resources and
make use of the same. Moreover, they can also
download the copies if the references are
available in digital mode. The library staff
provides this Reference Service to the students,
faculty and staff during working hours. This
service is specifically helpful for the students
who are conducting research studies and want more
references.
8Hostel The Karnataka State Law University also
has accommodation facilities for both boys and
girls. There are separate hostel buildings for
them and the university provides all the basic
amenities to the students. Moreover, there is a
good security system which makes the environment
safe and comfortable for the students to live and
study in. Other facilities KSLU has a moot court
that organizes competitions on a regular basis.
Additionally, the university also has other Legal
Education Programs for students, who want more
exposure and experiential learning. The Law
students can practice their skills in the Kannada
Moot Court Competition and a university-owned
international Law Moot Court Competition as
well. Additionally, there are smart classrooms,
seminar halls, an auditorium for lectures and
other educational purposes. The labs also have
the latest technologies which allow students to
make full use of them and learn the basic skills.
Moreover, the university also has a Revaluation
Center for lectures which are seen as very
significant for a better teaching method. KSLU
also focuses on sports and other related
activities apart from academics. They aim to
bring more importance to the sports events and
organizes various competitions among colleges and
other universities as well. The university
focuses on the social, mental and emotional
development of the students. It always aims in
developing emotional expression and control,
social-moral character along with an emphasis on
both physical and mental health. Hence, KSLU
priorities the physical and mental well-being of
all the students and faculty.
9COURSES OFFERED
KSLU offers various courses in Law. Some of the
most popular ones include LLB or Bachelor of Law.
This course is for a duration of three years.
Additionally, the candidates should also have an
aggregate of 45. The university also offers a
Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BALLB),
which is for a duration of five years. The
program, BBA LLB, Bachelor of Business
Administration and Bachelor of Law is also for
five years. Moreover, the total no of seats for
all the courses at the UG level is 60.
Additionally, there is also an integrated course
in BA LLB. The university offers a BCom LLB for a
duration of five years. The university offers LLM
for two years with specializations in
International Law, Intellectual Property Rights,
Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Business and
Trade Law. Additionally, KSLU also offers PG
Diploma and Diploma courses. Both these courses
are for a year. Some of the specializations for
the PG Diploma include IT, Cyber Law,
Intellectual Property Rights, Human Rights,
Technology Law, Cyber and Information. As for the
Diploma course, the university offers a
specialization in Cyber Law.
