Introduction

• Excision of lumps and bumps refers to any minor
  procedure for skin or subdermal lesions, such as
  warts, moles, cysts or lipomas. These are
  typically undertaken under local anesthesia in a
  day surgery unit. lipoma is a lump under the skin
  that occurs due to an overgrowth of fat cells.
  Doctors consider lipomas to be benign tumors,
  which means that they are non-cancerous growths.

Treatment

  anesthetic. This means you will be awake for the

  general anesthetic.

  specimen for analysis. The wound will be closed
  with some stitches, and the type of stitch will
  vary depending on the type of lump that is
  removed. Sometimes these are dissolvable and
  sometimes they will require removal.

• Recovery will depend on the type of procedure.
  The surgeon will give detailed instructions on
  how and when a person should have a follow-up
  appointment for further care.
