titute of Liver and Billary Sciences ( ILBs) is a
state-of-the-art medical college dealing with
special courses in the field of liver sciences.
The institute offers as many as 26 specialized
courses on its Delhi campus. Furthermore, the
institute has its own medical college which is
among the best centers dedicated to liver
sciences in the country. The institute further
promises its self to be not within academic
boundaries only as it also claims to produce
students that develop a sense of permanence,
stability, tradition, and stewardship. Further,
the institutes objective is to finally become
an international center of excellence in the
field of its operations.

5HISTORY
The history of the Institute of Liver and Billary
Sciences goes back to 2003. In 2003 the
foundation stone of the institute was laid at
Vasant Kunj Delhi under the presence of
government dignitaries. The work of completing
the institute and its constitute hospital was
given to the Publics Works Department (PWD).
Likewise, the Public Works Department ( PWD)
completed the first phase of constructing the
structure of the institute in 2009. Thus soon
after its completion in early 2010 January Mrs.
Sheila Dixit the longest-serving chief minister
of Delhi inaugurated the campus and the
institute under the presence of many government
officials. A total of 7 years were taken for the
institute to start functioning from its
foundation. Moreover, the institute lately
ranked 11th and received NAAC accreditation as
well. Furthermore soon after its establishment
and functioning it was recognized by UGC as a
Deemed University.

coupled with adequate staff and teaching faculty

follows. Library The library at ILBS consists

field of liver sciences. The total collection of
documents at the institute stands around and
above 1000. Presently the library consists of
e-books, Print books, Print, and E-Journals,
Periodicals, CDs, etc. The library also provides
statistical software services to its members.
Moreover, the library has access to ERMED
Consortium and National Medical documents
through the National Medical Library Government
of India.
8Hostel The in-campus hostel of the institute is
hygienic, neat, and clean. Likewise, furnishing
with bed cots and other usable furniture is
available. The sharing rooms even have spaces
for seating and relaxation. Each floor of the
hostel building has water purifiers,
refrigerators, T.V recreational spaces, and
coolers. Furthermore, a gymnasium is also
available and the students get a hall as well for
small functions. Extra-Curricular Activities To
keep the students fairly active and fit the
institute organizes sporting events. It
celebrates annual sports day where sports like
marathon running, cricket, carom are there.
Moreover, the institute also has a badminton
court where students can play. Moreover, every
Sunday the institute organizes a movie day where
students get to watch a movie at the hall.
Furthermore, in curricular activities, students
get to use their skills to entertain. Other

infrastructure the institute has remarkable
medical infra be it operation theatres,
Intensive care units, and imaging and diagnostic
departments. Furthermore, the hospital wing has
more than 100 beds and acts as a hands-on
experience center for the students. Auditorium
The auditorium of the institute is located in the
College of Nursing and hosts many events and
corporate meets of sorts. Cafeteria The
cafeteria serves hot meals and fresh Hygenic
snacks to entertain the taste buds of the
students. Parking Space The institute also has
parking spaces for faculties and visitors.

liver sciences the institute provides courses

institute are DM Hepatology, DM organ Transplant
Anesthesia and critical care, M.Ch Hepato-
pancreatic- Billary Surgery, DM Pediatric
Hepatology, DNB (Nephrology), Ph.D. in
Biomedical Sciences, Ph.D. in Epidemiology of
Viral Hepatitis and Liver Diseases it also
provides a number of PDCC and PGCC curses.
