Introduction

contributes to nearly 3 of Indias current GDP.
Mining also generates huge employment in our
country. In this presentation, we will talk about
some common equipment which are used in mining
industry.

TROMMEL SCREEN
A trommel screen, or rotary screen, is a kind of
mechanical screening machine used in the
separation process. The material is separated
based on particle size, and the separation
accuracy is high. Trommel screens consist mainly
of motor, reducer, roller device, frame, sealing
cover, inlet and outlet. Trommel screens are very
efficient, cost effective and easy to maintain.
It also produce less noise and are mechanically
more robust.

Conveyor
Conveyor systems are common pieces of mechanical
handling equipment that transfer materials from
one location to another. Conveyors are
particularly useful for transporting heavy or
bulky materials. They are more convenient and
safer to use than a forklift or other machine for
moving materials. They are capable of moving
loads of all sizes, shapes, and weights. Some are
also equipped with advanced safety features
designed to prevent accidents. A conveyor system
that is designed properly will last a long time
with proper maintenance.

Hydrocyclone
Hydrocyclones are gravity-based separation
devices that are used to separate slurry
particles based on their weight. Cyclones are
also commonly used to dewater slurries since they
have a much higher throughput than other
alternatives like the traditional filter press.
Hydrocyclones can handle very high slurry
throughput rates, and many mineral processing
plants have a battery of them. A hydrocyclone
uses centrifugal force to separate plastic film
based on size, shape, and density (specific
weight).

Screening Solution
A screen media is a relatively cheap and small
wear part when compared to the equipment
typically found in mining and mineral processing.
Since they are so large and expensive, they are
routinely taken for granted. Poorly performing
screen media can lead to loss of production,
increased maintenance and downtime, and decreased
quality of product. In order to decide on the
ideal screen arrangement, several operating
characteristics and material characteristics must
be considered.

Chutes
In mining operations, chutes are used to move
material from one process to another. Chute
systems collect, convey, and prepare material
flows for the next phase of processing when
material enters or leaves a process. Chutes are
commonly found in combination with crushers,
feeders, conveyors, stackers, and grinding mills.
Chute generates excellent wear life and reduces
costly liner maintenance.

for slurry transportation, large mining trucks,
electric rope shovels, motor graders etc. India
is one of the worlds top producers of iron ore
and bauxite. Because of the abundance of natural
mineral resources in India, the country is home
to a bustling mining industry and a number of
companies seeking to take advantage of the
enormous market. There are already various mining
equipment manufacturers in the market space and
more are emerging. The industry has shown a
positive trend for growth. There are small gaps
in the industry, particularly in the engineering
space which optimizes the use of said equipment.
