Title: 13 Most Expensive NFT

1
  • 13 Most Expensive NFTs Sold Around The World

2
1. The First 5,000 Days
  • Mike Winkelmann, popularly known as Beeple, is an
experienced digital artist and graphic designer
who created the digital artwork collage The First
    5,000 Days.
  • Winkelmann began working at the college in May
2007 and has been posting art pieces every day
    for the past 13 years.
  • The artwork was only available through
Christies, an NFT auction house, and was
purchased for 69,346,250 by crypto millionaire
MetaKovan. He viewed Beeple as an artist of the
digital-native generation. The auction was also
the first fully digital-work auction on NFTs to
accept payment in the form of a cryptocurrency
    (ETH).
  • Following the sale, Beeple gained a large
following on Instagram, amassing 1.8 million
followers and landing collaborations with brands

with its own set of characteristics.
  • Its one of only nine Alien punks, CryptoPunk
7523. Its medical mask attribute offers it a
    particular topicality in these COVID-influenced
times. This could be one reason why it was
purchased for a stunning 11.8 million by
    DraftKings.
  • I really wanted this particular CryptoPunk,
    Mackenzie told Decrypt.

3. CryptoPunk 3100
  • Because it is one of the Alien varieties, which
account for only 9 out of 10,000 CryptoPunks,
Punk 3100 is exceptionally rare. Another feature
that adds to the characters rarity is its
headband, which is worn by just 405 other Punks.

4. CryptoPunk 7804
  • Punk 7804 is a CryptoPunk series NFT that was
sold almost simultaneously with 3100 in March
2021. Its yet another Alien Punk, a very rare
creature. It also sports three accessories a
    pipe, a cap, and sunglasses.
  • There are only 378 punks who smoke pipes, 254 who
wear caps, and 317 who use little shades.
  • Around 4,200 ETH was paid for the item, which was
    worth 7,566,173.88 at the time.

artwork that was resold for 6.6 million on Nifty
Gateway. It is an NFT marketplace operated by
    Gemini, a famous cryptocurrency exchange.
  • After losing the 2020 US presidential elections,
former US President Donald Trump is depicted
lying down with many marks on his skin.

6. OceanFront

  • Ocean Front is a new age masterpiece from
Beeples Everydays series that depicts the
    dangers of climate change.
  • The initial price was 2.77 million, with Tron

3F Music, and NFT whale BabyBeluga competing for
the top spot. Justin ended up with the winning
    bid of 6 million.

market transaction for 1800 ETH at roughly 5.8

firm, was the buyer. This transaction was the
greatest money ever spent on an Art Blocks piece,
with the previous high being 1000 ether (about

  • The punk is one of only 88 Zombies in a total of
10,000 CryptoPunks. It is also one of only four
with the thin mohawk trait, making it an
    extremely rare specimen.

Why are NFTs so expensive?
Buyers are flexing their digital wallets in some
cases to show off how much cryptocurrency they
have. Although, in others, there is a deeper
curiosity regarding the purchase of NFTs.
These most expensive NFTs are appealing because
their uniqueness and ownership can be validated.
They can be used across different organizations
applications, and they can be exchanged easily on
secondary markets. These characteristics open the
door to new business models and application
cases.
The two valid reasons for NFTs being so expensive
are primarily due to their blockchain technology
and their head-turning art.
