  • Overview
  • The main purpose of this system is to monitor
    control any kind of household electrical
    appliances using smart switches.
  • The control/monitoring is made possible from
    android app web application.
  • Control can be done from being both inside
    outside the residence premises.
  • All kinds of data communications are completely
    wireless encrypted, so no chance of data
    loss/intrution.

    electrical appliances.
  • Adapters for connecting HUB switches to AC
    power socket.

  • Devices Utilities
  • The overall system consists of a HUB (smart
    server), which is the central/master controlling
    device of the complete system.
  • HUB sets-up Wifi-AP throughout the users
    residence, to allow client devices to connect to
    it and get status data.
  • The system also comprises of smart switches
    (electrically connected to home appliances).
  • The switches connects to HUBs Wifi-AP
    periodically gets status data set by User to
    change the states (ON/OFF) of appliances.
  • The smart switches are mainly of 2 types for
    single appliance control for multiple appliance
    control.
  • The HUB also connects itself to local router (if
    present), followed by web server web
    application.

  • To monitor/control the states (power ON/OFF) of
    appliances, smartphone needs to connect to HUBs
    Wifi-AP.
  • The android app would be used to monitor change
    the status of each registered appliances from the
    HUB.
  • Android app is also used to change various
    settings from app.
  • HUB smart switches has memory retention
    function to restore the appliance states after
    system restore in case of power failure.

  • System registration
  • Once the system boot-up for the first time, each
    of the client devices registers themselves to the
    HUB automatically.
  • Then theyre assigned with a registration id,
    type of registration (single appliance
    control/multi-appliance control system), default
    state.
  • These credentials are stored in both HUB client
    devices memory for further future functioning.
  • When HUB is set to connect to router, it
    registers in cloud server for a particular user,
    which helps the user to monitor/control each
    appliances specifically from web application.

HUB Specification
  • The HUB/smart server is powered from AC mains
    through AC adapter/SMPS.
  • It can simultaneously connect to any Wifi-AP
    (router) also provide its own Wifi-AP for the
    client devices/smart switches to connect to it.
  • This flexibility allows users to control/monitor
    status of each of the home appliances by being
    both inside home anywhere around the world.
  • Its memory retention capability allows it to
    retain status of each of the appliances even
    after power failures.
  • The data communication with any of the client
    devices (smart switches/android app) is fast
    encrypted to provide maximum security considering
    the importance of every single data.

Smart switch Specifications

    appliances.
  • Every device connects to Wifi-AP of HUB GETs
    data from HUB periodically to change the states
    of appliances (ON/OFF).
  • The type of data GET from HUB determines the
    property to control single/multiple appliances.
  • It also has memory retention property to retain
    appliance state data in case of power failure.
