Title: Top Mountain Bike Trails in Utah
1Top Mountain Bike Trails in Utah
2Mountain biking is a great way to spend some time
outside and get some exercise while enjoying our
beautiful state of Utah. An abundance of trails
will suit any rider, from casual and easy up to
pro-level single-track that can leave even the
most experienced riders breathless! If you are
new to the sport or just looking for something
different, here are ten of Utah's best mountain
bike trails.
3Gooseberry Mesa
- Located in the south of Utah, just north of Zion
National Park, Gooseberry Mesa is a fantastic
destination for beginners and experienced riders
alike. The terrain varies in difficulty along the
trail, and you'll find yourself in the sand,
slick rock, sandstone ledges, and more sand.
There are also great views of the surrounding
area from high on the mesa!
4Kokopelli Multi-Use Trail
This trail is located in Fruita, near the famous
Kokopelli Trail. The main loop of the trail is 11
miles long, with some smaller trails branching
off to extend your ride time. The terrain varies,
so it's perfect for any rider looking for a good
workout!
5White Rim Trail
- This 50-mile trail lies within Canyonlands
National Park on the Shafer Trail Road. It has a
rating but climbs up around 2000 feet, so it's
probably best suited for intermediate to advanced
riders. There are spots where the trail is fairly
technical with rocks strewn about, but other
parts are flat and great for cruising fast or
taking in the view!
6White Pine Lakes
- One of my personal favorites! Located in Torrey,
near Capitol Reef National Park and Boulder,
Utah, this 8-mile loop in thick pinion and
juniper is great for beginners looking to conquer
the jump line. But be warned, it is easy to get
caught up in all the fantastic views along the
way!
7Manti-La Sal Trail
- The Manti-La Sal National Forest is an incredibly
vast area covered in mountain biking trails of
all levels, including some more difficult
single-track trails within the Dark Hollow
Wilderness Area. This particular trail winds its
way up to Strawberry Reservoir at 10,000 feet
above sea level. For most riders, this trail
requires a bit of skill and is only recommended
for those with plenty of experience. The views
along the way make it worth the effort, though!
