A Budget Is Essential For An Indian Wedding
  • Indian weddings are large affairs and can involve
family and friends coming from distant shores for
the various rituals that take place before the
wedding and on the big day itself. Some people
today hire a wedding planner to take care of a
lot of the tasks involved in planning a wedding,
but in India weddings are still largely
considered to be a family affair with members of
the extended family sharing the responsibility of
planning and executing all the various jobs that
go to make up the whole.

  • One of the most important tasks is the decoration
of the wedding venue itself. An Indian wedding
backdrop forms the setting for the most important
day of the lives of the bride and groom. A lot of
thought and consideration must go into the décor
of the venue, starting with draperies, the
wedding stage, the mandap, the flowers, and even
the lighting. All these can have a big effect on
the overall appearance of the day. At Kenza
Creations, we are renowned for the amazing décor
we produce for weddings across the country, in
venues far and wide, and we will always work
    within your budget.
  • It is essential to have a budget for every
wedding, and also a checklist. If you dont set a
budget, it is so easy to go way beyond the amount
of money that you can really afford to spend. OK,
the day is not going to be cheap far from it.
But you dont want to spend the next ten years
paying for it. In fact, Indian weddings can be so
costly if you dont set a budget or even if you
do that many couples start a savings account on
the birth of a daughter for that precise purpose,
even though it can be 25 years away.

  • Budget And Checklist
  • You need both a checklist and a budget sheet. On
the budget sheet you should allocate what you
consider to be a reasonable amount for each area
of the wedding, because that will help you to
keep the expenses in check. It also means that if
you overrun on one item, you may well be able to
cut down on another one so that the overall cost
remains viable. It is very important to keep
track of expenditure as you go.
  • You need to choose a central colour scheme for a
wedding, and all the decorations will be centred
on that particular colour or colours. Favourites
today for Indian weddings are red and gold, red
being a traditional choice for the brides
wedding dress. Other popular colours are pink,
    lavender, royal blue, and green.

  • When it comes to drapes and canopies, the
standard colours are often yellow and red, which
will match well with red and gold. Draperies can
add character to the venue and can be
    interspersed with flowers and lights.
  • Flowers, of course, are an essential in any
Indian wedding, and these can range from strings
of marigolds to orchids and lilies. Roses are
also popular, so you could go for red roses mixed
in with white jasmine, for instance. In order to
keep costs down, you should use flowers that are
in season in the UK because if you settle for
flowers that have to be imported, the cost is
    going to rocket.
  • The stage, of course, is where the bride and
groom are brought in to meet the guests and seek
their blessings. This is one thing, along with
the mandap, where you can really go to town with
the drapes and flower arrangements. It may be
that you need to cut down on the budget
elsewhere, but you can be excused for spending
more on the stage and mandap.
