Title: GATE 2022 Exam: An Overview
1GATE PSUs Exams
2Reasons Why to Appear for GATE
3Other Reasons to Appear for GATE
- Master's degree leads to specialization and
cultivates and brings out the best of your
interest in a certain area which may lead to
research / PhD. - More domain-specific companies recruit through
campus recruitment in leading Institutes. - Higher salaries are offered for the postgraduate
students when compared to a graduate. - A Masters degree is a must for those wishing to
apply for Faculty/Research positions in
educational institutes and most of the RD
centers. - Scholarship of Rs 12,400/- is paid during Masters
Course So no dependency on parents for financial
needs. - Most importantly to get to be a part of any
nationally reputed Educational Institute and
enjoy learning and research in a conducive
ambience. - can clear other exam too like SSC-JE, State AE
exams, HPCL, BARC, ISRO and all other PSU exams
because syllabus is almost same and other exams
are a bit easier than GATE Exam. - Last but not the least, a Master course changes
the individual's thought process teaches us how
to approach and solve a problem in a totally new
unknown environment.
4Importance Priorities of GATE?
- If a students score good marks in GATE Exam,
their first priority is to get a PSU Job which
have a lot of benefits and good salary package. - Many PSUs accept GATE Score, whereas other PSUs
conduct their own test which has same syllabus
that of GATE, so if a student is preparing for
GATE, he will surely succeed in other PSU exams
also. - Next priority will be to get admission into top
IITs, IISc and top NITs for M. Tech. Student need
to fill separately for each IITs and IISc,
whereas all the other NITs and good Govt.
Colleges are covered through CCMT counselling. - The GATE Score also helps in the admission in
different Foreign Universities. - Some private sector employers in the core sectors
(more relevant for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical
and Electronics Engineering companies) also give
weightage to Good GATE score/GATE Rank

28Some Points Around GATE Cut-Off
- Number of students appearing for GATE are getting
reduced drastically because the Number of PSUs
accepting GATE Score are releasing less
vacancies. - Also, the vacancies are not released by all PSUs
every year. Only some PSUs release their
vacancies through GATE every year. - The competition is very high in Mechanical and
Electrical branch therefore Cut-Offs are very
high in these branches. - Many PSUs are conducting their own exam for
recruitment like HPCL, HAL, SAIL etc conducted
their own written test this year.

5. Follow the plan to Complete the Syllabus
Start preparation with an easy subject and an
important one. mathematics and one basic
technical subject is good to start preparation.
Read topic by topic to complete the entire GATE
Syllabus. Make a revision note for each topic
that should cover all important definitions,
formulas, differences, etc. Practice topic wise
previous GATE questions after understanding each
topic. Attempt the quizzes/tests for each topic
and subject to know your performance. Clear all
your doubts during your preparation. Identify
the weakness areas while practising quizzes/tests
and try to revise and practise those topics. 6.
Revise everything you studied for GATE
Preparation Read the revision notes on a weekly
basis to recall the concepts of prepared
subjects. 7. Practice the Mock Tests Keep
attempting online mock tests. Practice the mock
tests to improve performance. Performance depends
on how much time is devoted to answering each
question and how many questions are answered
correctly. 8. Revise and Practice in the last
stage Give time for both revisions and
practice. Practice more tests, identify the
weaker topics in each test and revise them.
Practice 2 to 5 tests every day and recall all
concepts during your practice.

84Insights Around ESE Cut-Off
- The Cut-Off for both ESE Prelims and ESE Mains
has increased in the year 2020 as compared to
previous years. - This is mainly due to the decreased number of
vacancies and very tough competition. - Also, the difficulty level matters. If the
Difficulty Level will be high, then Cut-Off will
be less and vice versa. - Also, Railways has removed their seats from ESE
2020 onwards, so the number of vacancies has
decreased a lot. - Railways will be conducting IRMS but till date,
no notification or advertisement has been
released by the Government. - IRMS will be dedicated for Railway's vacancies of
Class-1 Officer.
