RA Power Solutions was approached by a leading
shipping company regarding  problem faced by them
in the crankshaft of Daihatsu 5DK-20  Auxiliary
Engine.
Action taken by RA Power Solutions to Repair of
Crankshaft of Daihatsu 5DK-20 Engine

• The hardness and crack detection by MPI was
  undertaken and all the parameters were observed
  within limits as per the Daihatsu engine
  manufacturer.  
• The crankpin no. 1 grinding was undertaken to the
  first step undersize of 0.5 mm. It was jointly
  inspected by the chief engineer and RA Power
  technicians. 
• Since the deep bearings line marks were still
  present. It was decided to undertake the grinding
  to the next undersize of 1.0 mm.
• The crankpin was polished and after grinding
  polishing the final size of 168.97 mm to 168.99
  mm was maintained. The crankpin no. 2 and 5 were
  also polished.RA POWER can maintan the surface
  finish of less then 20 Ra value.
