Tips For Choosing The Right Warehouse Shelf Labels

If you want to maximize efficiency in your
warehouse, one of the things that you can do is
equip it with a complete, custom warehouse
signage solution. Selecting the right label and
scanner combination can simplify and streamline
your business processes.  Since there is a wide
range of warehouse label options to choose from,
choosing the right one to use in your company may
seem like a daunting task. The following are some
of the things you should do to be able to choose
the right warehouse shelf labels for your needs.
3
First, you need to determine where the labels are
going. Bulk storage locations and warehouse racks
may be two components in the same warehouse, but
when it comes to labeling them, they are distinct
entities that require labels designed for the
purpose. It is imperative that you choose
warehouse rack labels that suit your
specifications. Common examples include single
level labels, multilevel labels and wraparound
labels. If you need to label bulk storage, such
pallets, containers and totes or even the floor
or ceiling, warehouse label options that you can
go for include container labels, floor labels,
pallet labels and hanging signs.
4
Another thing you should do when choosing when
choosing warehouse shelf labels is decide if you
should be using short-range or long-range
scanners. Long range scanners can improve
operation efficiency by allowing you to scan
labels from greater distances.  This can help cut
down on traffic issues within the warehouse.
Short range scanners are ideal for work distances
of about 3 to 15 feet while long range scanners
have the ability to scan from distances of up to
50 feet. Pallet labels, storage labels, floor
labels and lower-level rack labels work better
with short range scanners while hanging signs and
higher level rack labels work better with long
range scanners.
