Buscopan (generic name hyoscine butylbromide) is
an oral drug used to relieve spasms of the

It also relieves symptoms of IBS or irritable

This medication can also help with dysmenorrhea
or period pain. This is available in Buscopan 10
mg tablets.

Mechanism of Action
This antispasmodic agent has a spasmolytic action
in the genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and
biliary tracts but does not enter the central
nervous system. Thus, it has no anticholinergic
effects, except for peripheral anticholinergic
action resulting from a ganglion-blocking action
within the visceral wall.

How to Take Buscopan
Before you take this oral antispasmodic, you must

by mouth. For cramps, this is prescribed two
tablets, four times a day, and for the relief of
