Title: 3 Ways We Can Strengthen Our Communities
13 Ways We Can Strengthen Our Communities
2Most experts, commentators and analysts these
days are proficient at announcing and
articulating the many problems that we face in
our communities, and across our country. Yet,
when it comes to talking or writing about how to
fix them, they typically fall silent not
because they dont care, but because the
challenges are staggering and overwhelming in
their scope and complexity. Fortunately, there
are active change agents in our midst like Vista
Realty Partners Founder Eduard de Guardiola, who
are not just capable of telling us whats wrong,
but much more vitally, they point the way forward
towards practices, programs and projects that
unleash practical and sustainable
solutions. According to Eduard J. de Guardiola
an Atlanta resident, entrepreneur, and active
philanthropist believes in positive change,
claiming that the following initiatives and
causes are the best ways to strengthen our
communities immediately.
3End domestic hunger by supporting food banks and
food drives.
Despite the fact that the U.S. is experiencing
strong economic growth and unemployment in some
areas is at an all-time low, a staggering 40
million people struggle with hunger. What is even
more shocking is that 12 million of these people
are children who are not getting the basic daily
nutrition they need to focus at school, and
properly develop physically and psychologically
which puts them at a major disadvantage that can
severely limit their potential later in
life. Comments Eduard J. de Guardiola We
cannot sit back and wait until we feel affluent
enough to think about helping our fellow citizens
who are situationally or chronically food
insecure. Those of us who are blessed with enough
to eat need to take the lead and be part of the
solution right now. According to the Atlanta
Community Food Bank Nearly 23.6 of young
children (ages 5 and under) in the U.S. live
below the poverty level and more than 1 in every
5 Georgia kids live in food insecure households.
The US Census shows the 2018 poverty threshold
was 25,900 for a household of four. Recent
reports state millions of Americans are one
missed paycheck ahead of poverty. If families
arent worried about basic human needs such as
choosing to pay for food instead of utilities,
they will be able to focus on a better future. I
am committed to addressing the hunger problem in
the Atlanta area through both monetary donations
and more food drives at all the properties in
Vistas portfolio. Fighting hunger is now the 1
philanthropic initiative of the de Guardiola
Family Office.
4Build more workforce housing.
When it comes to the economy, much of the
attention is paid to ongoing growth and rising
employment. However, this good news story is
masking a darker undercurrent in many parts of
the country, and especially in suburban areas,
housing is prohibitively expensive which
is forcing families to choose between paying the
rent, or paying for their kids to go to college,
paying for much-needed health services, or in
some cases paying for basics like utilities and
food. In the last few years, the U.S. has
experienced booming job growth in entry level
jobs, construction, manufacturing,
transportation, and other types of employment
that are not necessarily high income. Eduard J.
de Guardiola explains that this trend has led to
a massive number of individuals and families who
urgently need affordable, safe rental housing.
Eduard de Guardiola actively encourages clients
to consider investing in properties that help
solve this housing gap, which is not just great
news for suburban workers, but it is also a win
for clients who earn strong and safe returns, and
who know that they are doing something very
important and meaningful in the community.
5Establish mentoring programs that pay it forward.
There is an incredible amount of untapped
knowledge across industries and sectors that,
once accessed, would not just change our society
for the better it would transform it in ways
that we can only imagine. But to get there, we
need leaders who have experienced the highs and
lows in their respective professions to mentor
those who will one day take their place in
positions of power and influence. Eduard J. de
Guardiola says that the de Guardiola Family
Office is built on the concept of paying it
forward. He further adds that, it is incredibly
rewarding and energizing to provide new
entrepreneurs who are entering the real estate
market with counseling and mentoring, a portfolio
to back their funding request, and in some cases
funding to sponsor their business plans. Eduard
de Guardiola is hopeful that other leaders will
follow suit and realize that they have wisdom and
encouragement to offer the next generation,
regardless of what industry they specialize in.
6Eduard J. de Guardiolas Final Thoughts
It is evident that there are underlying issues in
our communities, and change agents need to step
up and influence the general public to generate
awareness and encourage others to provide support
where they can. The leading issues surrounding
North America according to Eduard J. de Guardiola
are ending hunger, creating more affordable
housing options, and the sharing of knowledge to
future generations. When we band together our
powers to change societal issues is limitless, we
must become one and address these issues head-on
in order to create a stronger foundation for our
future leaders.
