Advantage of Accuracy
Notary publics can translate documents, including
birth certificates, into English and translate
documents in other languages. Non-English
language documents may not be possible for notary
publics to notarize. Notary publics are not
allowed to notarize documents in foreign
languages. They are allowed to translate
documents in the same language for notary public.
This is a grey area for notaries and their
services may not be widely available in all
locations.
To verify the accuracy of a document, a notary
public must sign it. To verify that a translation
is correct, it's a good idea to seek professional
advice. This service is not offered in all
jurisdictions. To certify that the document was
properly translated, a notary can be used. Only a
limited number of purposes can a notary public
translate a document.
