What is down syndrome and why you should know
about it?
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused when
abnormal cell division results in extra genetic
material from chromosome 21. Chromosomes are
small package of genes in the body. It is the
condition by which some people born with . Down
syndrome can varies from individual to
individual. Its better to understand as soon as
possible about down syndrome so that you can
greatly increase the quality of your children
life.
Symptoms -
The symptoms of this syndrome vary from
individual to individual. Some can suffer though
heart defects and other may not suffer. Although
this can be notice in children as well as in
adults. Some of the common symptoms noticed are
as follows-

• Small ears with uneven shape
• Flattened face
• Small head
• Small neck
• Short fingers and feet as compare to others

• Small hands
• Excessive Flexibility
• Height difference may be short or long

When to see doctor?
Most of the time down syndrome is diagnosed in
children at starting age and at birth. If you

Causes of down syndrome-
Down syndrome result in abnormal division of
cells involving chromosome number 21. There are
total 23 pair of chromosome. One chromosome from
each pair comes from your father and other from
your mother.
There are some extra genetic material which are
responsible for development problem of down
syndrome and their characterised features. Some
most common three genetic variation which causes
down syndrome are as below-

• Mosaic down  syndrome  it is the one of the rare
  down syndrome in which a person only have some
  extra copy of cells of chromosome number21.

• Translocated down syndrome  as the word describe
  translocation which mean transfer of chromosome
  number 21 onto the another chromosomes. It may
  happen before or during the time of conception.

• Trisomy-21  usually people have to copy of there
  chromosome 21 but in this type of down syndrome a
  person will have three copies of their chromosome
  21. The trisomy 21 is mostly caused during the
  development of egg cells and sperm cells.

Complication seen with down syndrome-
These are some of the complication you child may
go through but the solution is to avoid negative
energy from the body. Sone of the common
complication noticed in people are as given
below-

• Heart problem
• Obesity
• Sleep apnea
• Problem in breathing
• Under active thyroid
• Problem in hearing and speaking
• Asthma
• Hypertension
